Becker 2012 Material

I am sure this has been asked 1m times, but I have access to Becker 2012 material. Will it kill me to use this on the 2014 BEC and AUD tests? (I assume FAR and REG would be impossible). Would it be wise to supplement with other material or is this a fruitless endeavor?

    Thanks!

BEC should be ok – don't use the AUD because the 2012 book will be worthless in 2014.

Jeff do you really think it would be worthless though? From my understanding, just Lectures 1, 3, and 5 have been changed. The OP may be able to use these and supplement with something like ninja notes to highlight the key differences.

    10/13/13 - FAR *PASSED* 76
    12/01/13 - AUD *PASSED* 84
    01/09/14 - BEC *PASSED* 84
    02/27/14 - REG *PASSED* 81

Unless the tests are being revamped massively in 2014, I think the materials would be good, even the ones for FAR and REG. Just be sure to check out the updates on Becker and see what material will be outdated. I used the 2011 materials to take REG and BEC in 2013 and it worked out just fine. I had 2011 AUD and was able to upgrade to the 2013 Version B (the latest version) for a nominal fee and even that material was mostly the same, outside of the switch to Clarified SAS. I also had 2011 FAR and thought it would be outdated, so I bought the 2013 version; but again, the vast majority of it was similar. I probably could have gotten away using the 2011 version.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

Sorry – maybe worthless was a stretch 🙂

Since they are switching to Clarity only, I would use a fresh book if it were me.

Jeff, what materials did you use to pass the CPA tests (long time ago)?

I passed those three exams using becker 2011

I know my scores are not that amazing but it's not due to the material i studied for sure lol

Even if i had 2014 reviews, i cannot guarenteed the higher scores

However, for my last exam FAR.. I'm using wiley 2014 book

So we'll see how this goes..

I don't think REG would be totally useless. I don't think THAT much has changed. Obviously the personal exemption amounts have, but that's not something you need to memorize for the exam. The deduction amount for medical expenses is 10% instead of 7.5% …. don't think there was anything else too different.

    B- 82
    A- 84
    R- 67, 72, 78
    F- 83
