I recently lost BEC part of the exam and hope to retake it in the coming months. I originally studied for the exam with Becker 2011 edition and took the exam at the end of 2011. Now, due to financial difficulties I cannot repurchase updated Becker materials and wish to study with the 2011 edition. Does anyone know how different is the 2011 edition from 2013 edition for BEC and if I will have any difficulties preparing for the 2013 BEC exam using the 2011 materials?

I got my materials in 2011 (not Becker though), but ended up taking most of my exams in 2012 and this year. Some chapters like Economics, IT, Financial Management don't seem too different. Still, what I did was to get the latest Wiley BEC text (Kindle version was only $37 or so) and print the Content Specific Outline for BEC. I'm going through Wiley first and use the old book from time to time to supplement.

I had originally purchased the 2011 edition of Becker for BEC, only to end up taking the test in 2013 (not 2012). The difference in material is vast seeing that 2011 has 5 chpts and 2013 has 6.

The way Becker broke down material in 2013 is much better.

I went ahead and bought the 2012 edition. Nothing has changed material wise from 2012 to 2013. I would suggest going for the 2012 stuff if possible.

You still qualify for the 50% off discount as a past Becker student. I know that will still set you back $500 or so, but i would never waste time and money spent on an exam using old material.
