Ok so please forgive me a bit as I vent…

I am sitting for BEC on Tuesday (1/11/11 at 1pm – I thought the date and time sounded lucky but I think that’s backfiring on me). I took this week off of work to study hard core, and became VERY frustrated on this past Tuesday. I installed the 2011 update for the final review, clicked on BEC and it prompted me for the data disk that came with my book for BEC. I took the disk out and put it in my computer to find out it was BLANK!!! I promptly called Becker and after being transferred between technical support and customer service and also placed on hold for about 30 mins, I was told they’d send me a new CD. I told them I HAD to have it overnighted and it should be at their cost because they sent me a blank CD which was not my fault…this was on Tuesday (reminder). Well, my new CD just arrived via fed ex which was dropped at the door (I sat at home for the last 2 days waiting for it to be delivered because I was told by Becker it needed a signature) and it is BLANK AS WELL!!! I’m SO frustrated right now!

I know I can keep doing MC questions in my normal software, but this is just unacceptable and makes me even more frustrated! Why are they charging so much money for a product that doesn’t even work!?!?

Is anyone else having issues with Becker’s final review product for 2011?

Can anyone help give me a pep talk to lift my spirits so I can pass this stupid thing on Tuesday since I’m getting so frustrated?

Hey,

Its completely normal to be agitated in a situation like this but please please please do not let this come in your way of passing the exam. Its your last part and you should not let this mix-up by Becker affect you to such a large extent. I know you should get your money's worth from Beckers but it is definitely more worth your time and effort to concentrate on passing the exams. There are many people, including myself who have passed without Becker's Final Review and you can do the same! So Please focus all your energy toward passing the exam rather than focusing it on your anger towards Becker!

At the end of the day, Becker or no-Becker, you want to emerge with the three letters behind your name so put in your best these next 4 days to achieve your goal!

Thats is some BS I would get someone on the line and get yourself a refund check of some sort, otherwise I would start kicking ass and taking names!

LOL @ 75orbust. Truth be told this was not my first holdup with Becker…I already got my flashcards for free due to a mix up on their end…at this point I just wanted working software so I could get this last part done.

Deepa – Thank you for the kind words. I know I shouldn't let it affect me, but when you're so stressed out from studying and things start going out of your control….well for me personally I get super frustrated (which is why I would love this exam to be over asap). I truly hope I can post a passing score in March as well…but time will tell. Thank you SO SO much for those words – you have no idea how much that meant to me! 🙂 I hope you get successful scores as well in March!

I figure it was only fair to pass along this information as well seeing as how I had posted the above earlier. Evidently the way the Business final review data disk was burned determines if computers can read it or not. I was utilizing a computer that had XP Professional on it and it would not read it…but I put it on my personal computer with Vista and everything was there. So, I guess my advise to anyone using Becker that runs into the same problem would be to try another computer.
