    Hi Guys,
I am on my last 10 problems of Ch 1 with Becker and BEC seems pretty terrible…I am struggling with these cost accounting questions in Ch 1 …got about an avg of 75 my first time around with these mcq…I heard Ch 2 is rough too.

My question is, is this normal to struggle with these type of questions the first time around and are the real exam questions this complex? Does it get easier after the first two chapters?

Becker questions seem a bit much! I find myself having to allocated about 7-10 min a question on these mcq. and I went over the material multiple times with flashcards and cost accounting was an easy class for me in college.
    Thanks!!

I've passed BEC 2 times. my first score was an 80 and then it expired on me so I retook it after reviewing for 2 weeks and got a 75.

there are a lot of types of calculations. You really do need to know all of them. I found Becker's MCQ's to “over” prepare me for the actual exam. If you can trend a 70 on Becker's progress tests with the paragraph long MCQ's you will pass. *Everyone at the CPA firm I work at had this opinion. I found it to be true.

The actual questions on the BEC exams that I took were not quite as long and detailed. There were a lot of “distractors” in them. In the paragraph long question there is usually a short sentence or two that says something like “ABC company has been in business for 15 years.” that has nothing to do with anything.

    you can do this!!!!

    BEC - 8/8/16
    REG - 66, 77
    AUD - 81
    FAR - 9/8/16

@livealittle…I sure hope that you are right. I am in a similar position as the OP. My test on Monday left me uncertain.

You're worried after getting a 75 your first pass through?!? Really?

Those are excellent results. Struggling for me is a 50. 75 means I'm pretty good.

I use Becker. My first time going through the multiple choices was confusing cuz the material (especially b2 and b3) is new but once I went back and review it for the second time, everything came together. I'm only using Becker and studying strictly from the homework questions. Allow yourself just to brief through the topic first time around. Don't expect to retain too much. It becomes a lot easier after second time around. I just took BEC today.

Don't worry about those first two sections of Becker MCQs. I remember getting so frustrated that I wanted to throw my computer out the window! It seemed like either (1) Becker was testing you on material they didn't even cover within the lectures or (2) Pete and Tim expected you to have a much better calculator than that on-screen piece of garbage that is provided. I sat for BEC a couple of weeks ago and the MCQs were not nearly as difficult as those found in Becker (my opinion on all of the exams actually); they were very rudimentary. Regardless, 75% on your first pass of Becker MCQs is nothing to feel discouraged about, especially when it comes to those first two sections. Go get 'em!
