I just went through your forum today and found it interesting.

I am on H4 visa and I live in California.I have done B.Com and M.B.A(finance) in India.I am very new to this country ,just came 10 months back.I had sent the application to the Board and just today I received the approval notification from them.I am not sure whether I can post these questions here.My questions are:-

    1) Many of my friends suggested me that Becker is the best CPA review classes. Here in the USA everything has a deal! I was just wondering that how much would be the reasonable price to pay to the Becker classes. Is there any deal on Becker classes?

2)I just went through some of the websites and many recommend to take the BEC exams in 2010.What would you suggest me?Would it be possible to prepare for the exam within a short span of time?

    Any reply will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rathi.

Rathi I am from California too. I started to study for the CPA exam with BEC and I took one section at a time every window. I would suggest that you start sitting for the exam at the end of November and start with BEC. By 2011 BEC will have written communication portion and it will be harder to pass this section. At present BEC has only 90 MCQ's and you can make it by studying for 2 months or at least 100 hrs. At present I am using Becker and Yaeger however, I would suggest that you use Yaeger Homestudy or Cram because the lectures are really good and much cheaper (like a classroom set-up). Good luck!

    BEC 2/8/10 - 75 (studied hard & prayed less)
REG 5/15/10 - 88 (studied less but prayed hard)
AUDITING 8/9/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard)
FAR 11/30/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard) Thanks GOD! I'm DONE

    Hi suzzette ,

If you don't mind, could you tell me how much you ended up paying for the Becker classes?

    Thanks.

Becker cost $1,085 for BEC. Yaeger will cost around $355 with Jeff's disount.

Additionally, I used both Yaeger and Becker for BEC. I thought that Cindy Siimpson with Yaeger was awesome! One really sick multiple choice question that Cindy reviewed was on my exam. Becker did not cover that question. On the other hand, I thought that Becker's BEC review course was the worst of their four CPA review courses.

All 4 parts of Becker bought at once will probably run around $3,000. It is pretty pricey. It worked for me though, so it is hard to complain.
