I have been practicing the Becker Progress Test and I have been averaging low 90s. I do the progress test that has 100 MCQs. Is that a good indication that you are ready for the exam or can that be misleading? This is my first CPA exam and I am taking BEC tomorrow 🙂

    BEC - 88 (MAY 2011)
    REG - 91 (MAY 2011)
    AUD - 90 (July 2011)
    FAR -(TBD)

I also took the BEC today and it was my first time and first section. I scored average 82 in Becker's 100MC questions. I have mixed feelings about today's real exam. The first testlet was hardest among the three. I could not get at least two calculation questions and had guess. The last two testlets were easiler based on my knowledge. Does it mean I didn't do well since the better we did the harder questions we should get? When should we be expecting our score?

I wouldn't worry about it. What's easier for you might be considered more difficult by the AICPA. I think I did well enough on the first testlet on all the exams that the second one should have been harder, but the only exam where I saw an obvious difference amongst the testlets was FAR.

They'll begin releasing scores the 3rd week of June. I think BEC was the last one released in March, but I don't know if that will be true this time.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

Yes. I checked on AICPA's website and the BEC scores may be the latest to release because of the written communication part's of grading. Thanks for the reply, kb24. It helps me to not worry too much and focus on my next section, FAR. I truly admire you to take all four sections in two months! Any good advice for studying FAR? I plan to do extra wiley exercises on top of Becker.

–Do as many practice MCQ as you can. I did every single one in the Wiley test bank.

–If you're having trouble with a topic, write it out by hand. For example, I kept getting confused by some of the accounts and JE associated w/ bonds. I wrote out all the JE for the different situations and didn't have any trouble at all w/ bonds on the exam.

–Allow plenty of time to study govt/NFP. Could be 16-24% on these topics on exam. This was a weak area for me, but finally learned it from rereading Becker and doing the Wiley questions.

–Develop a time management plan for the exam and stick to it. This is a good idea for any of the exams but essential for FAR if you want to have a reasonable chance of finishing.

    Good luck.
