AUD on Monday – not scoring well on Becker Tests???

    Hello Everyone,

I am taking audit on Monday and I have been using the Becker review self-study. I haven’t been scoring that well on the Tests (around 65% on average – with some higher and some lower). Does Becker normally make their test much harder than the actual test?

Any advice on what to do for my last 5 days of review?

thats what i've heard..they say to add about 10% on top of what you get, to assess your potential score on the actual exam. For the last couple of days i'd suggest you do as many practice tests/mcq as possible. also focus in on the simulations. it really depends on how you feel with the material. since its early in the window and the scores won't come out till possibly june 30th you may want to consider postponing it, if thats a possibility at all. otherwise go in there confident and give it your best shot. Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice. I can't postpone it because I am taking BEC at the end of April and REG at the end of May. I feel fairly confident but get bummed when I see my results, I think just need to practice more and take my time going through the questions (I tend to misread one thing and screw up). I still have a ton of practice questions left so I am going to do them and see how I improve.

ok i hate to be that person but unless you are a genius why are you scheduling your exams so close together…. i see ppl post abt failing 3/4/5 times and i believe its because they are rushing to do the exam….i suggest you stretch the exams out and give yourself time to really prepare… whether becker is harder or not shouldnt be of much concern. even if it is you want more room to play with rather scoring 65% and adding 10%. to me thats too close for comfort… if you are averaging high 70's then adding 10% is more comforting to me

i just took audit today, and if you're pretty comfortable with the becker HW, then you should be okay (though i obvi wouldn't know whether i passed yet haha). the MCQ section was a breeze, but the TBS were pretty rough. my first tab was a concept that i told myself to look at again, but never did–i basically had to use my best judgement, but i had more than enough time to think everything through.

as far as the final exams are concerned, i wouldn't put too much weight on them. i got about the same averages as you on the FAR finals… granted, those scores sent me into an MCQ frenzy, but i ended up with an 82. i feel like those exams are more of a scare tactic. i honestly didn't bother with them for audit, and i feel like i knew at least 85% of my exam's MCQs with certainty, and a few more that i could make a good guess on.

know the becker HW well, know WHY the answers are right AND wrong, and practice the TBS if you can.

    IL CANDIDATE
    FAR - 11.21.10 - 82! 10.01.12
    AUD - 04.02.11 - 86
    BEC - 04.21.12 - 80
    REG - 09.08.12 - 76

    just a retake & i'm done!

I have been taking my time and actually averaging much higher so I'm not concerned anymore. It was just one bad test and a moment of freak out. I'm scheduling my exams so close together because its basically my full-time job right now so only giving myself 3 weeks to study is fine since I can put in at least 4 hours a day. I'm saving FAR for the summer when I can give myself a few extra weeks.

Also, its not because of the processing fee — since my firm is paying for it, its not much of a concern. I have 3 solid months with nothing going on so I decided to make this my full-time job. Also, so many people fail because they don't study and I have given myself more than enough time to study. If I can't pass a test with studying for more than 4 hours 6 days a week in 3 weeks then I would need to reevaluate my career choice.

@MAC when you mention FAR finals, you mean the FAR final exam test after you're all done with the FAR passmaster?
