    Hello Guys,
    I’m planing to set for AUD in January 2017, I’m preparing using Becker review, my question for those who taken the exam and prepare using Becker test-bank and simulations, do you guys found questions approximatily similar or the same of Becker’s questions in the real exam?
    Thank You in advance 🙂

    Hi Moh, I thought the questions in Becker were a little tougher than the actual exam questions. I felt very confident walking in and out on exam day. I did all the HW questions and a LOT of 50 question progress tests, 2 chapters at a time.

    Hamms: Good to know Becker's questions are harder than the exam ones. I find that to be true with FAR and BEC as well. Many folks on here mentioned Becker did not cover AUD well and the questions are easier than the exam so I was a bit nervous. Other have said the same for FAR and BEC as well, but when I took those exams, I think Becker did a great job covering all the materials in their homework questions. There were a lot of questions that I missed on the actual exam bc I did not study enough, not bc Becker did not cover it. Hope that's true for AUD as well.

    I find the AUD material easy in comparison to the others. Oddly that makes me nervous. I've heard many horror stories about AuD in this forum.

    I disagree with Becker's MCQ's being harder than the actual exam for AUD. I found the Exam's questions to be harder, especially on my 2nd testlet. But, I did very poor on my 2nd Testlet because another examtaker was typing away like a madman – huge distraction. I am bringing earplugs next time because Prometric's earmuffs are terrible! Also, I found Becker's MCQ's to be much harder for FAR vs the actual exam. Just my 2 cents.

    Do you think it's necessary to memorize the different types of auditor's report word for word?

    I only used becker and I thought it was more than enough. In the first (easy/medium) testlet, the questions were much easier than beckers. In the second/third (difficult) testlets they were the same as becker IMO. There were probably 5 to 7 questions in each difficult testlet that I didn't fully remember or that were tricky, but those were most likely pre-test questions. The sims were hard for me because I only practiced probably two sims in total but what I learned in becker helped me score stronger on them.

    IMO Becker is excellent for Audit.

    I agree; Becker's MCQ seemed harder than the exam ones. I don't think it's necessary to memorize the reports word for word, but I do think it's a good idea to have a pretty good idea as to general wording. The simulations, though, were a different story and completely different from what I was used to from Becker. But as long as you know the material well, the simulations should be fine. Good luck! 🙂

    What do you mean by IMO?

    IMO = In My Opinion.

    I wouldn't say you need to remember the reports word for word, but it may be worth the time to highlight on a note pad the difference in wordings for each type of report. I really can't remember if I had any MCQ regarding it on test day or if I'm remember Becker tests. If you get one in the SIMS I'd suspect you can use the authoritative literature to help with wording. I've gotten through a lot SIM questions on the tests using the literature they provide for the SIMS whereas I think a lot of people only use it when they have a research question.

    Were anyone able to pass AUD simply by doing homework questions? Meaning no books or lectures. I was able to pass FAR and BEC by studying multiple questions only, not sure if this would work with AUD.

    Thanks for all the tips. Very helpful.

    I did Becker for AUD and on the last week as part of my final review I did all CPAexcel test banks, there were some repeated questions I think but went in feeling pretty Confident. I did watch the lectures and took notes, I don't think I could have pulled it off without that but that's just me. I didn't memorized all the reports but I was familiar with the main wording and purpose of each, you can always pull them out from the literature if you need to prepare one in a sim.
