Advice on REG retake with Becker

I failed REG the first time around with a 68 using Becker. I watched all of the lectures but only did about half of the homework and very few sims. Would it be worth it to rewatch all of the lectures? I have such a hard time focusing during the lectures that I’m starting to wonder if maybe reading through the Becker book and NINJA notes and working tons of MCQs would be better. Any advice?

    FAR: 79 (Becker basic)
AUD: 68 (Becker basic), 91 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
BEC: 64 (blind), 81 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
REG: 68 (Becker basic), 73 (Becker, WTB, NINJA), REMATCH 2/27

I wouldn't worry about re-watching the lectures, unless there is a part that is particularly difficult for you and they explain it well in a lecture. Looking back, I don't know that I learned THAT much from the lectures, other than what was most important (through highlighting, underlining, etc.). If you watched the lectures and did all of that, I would probably review the text and start working on MCQs and simulations. Maybe review one chapter, work the MCQs and simulations, then move on to the next chapter. Do progress tests (even short ones of like 20 questions, if that is all that time permits) every now and then to keep the material fresh in your mind. Regardless, definitely focus on MCQs and simulations, NOT the lectures, especially if you've already been through the lectures once before.

I only used Becker for my tests, so I can't comment on the other study materials you mentioned.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

It all depends on how you learn best. It sounds like you are struggling with your current method so switching it up to reading the book, doing notes, and tons of MCQ may work better for you. Not doing enough MCQ and making sure you understand both right and wrong answers could be a part of the issue.

I agree with W_HAMILTON, I wouldn't worry about watching all the lectures. I would just focus on the MCQ's and really understand why the answer is what it is.

Also, for me, I read and re-read the book (at least areas I was having a hard time with) a few times. I mostly did this after doing the MCQ's and was just relaxing on the couch. Maybe the will work for you, as well?

Be confident. Going through the information a second time will definitely help. Now that you don't have to spend time going through the lectures, spend that time understanding the information.

Lasty, for me, sleep is important. I often set my alarm for 6am to study (to try and fit a few hours in before work) and turn it off to sleep. If you're too tired, what will you really retain?

Good luck! You have it next time around!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.
