2013 FAR study materials – Becker

    Any help is greatly appreciated! I have the 2012 Becker self-study materials for all four parts… I used the 2012 for REG this month because I heard from Becker that they would still be good this early in 2013.

    I am planning on taking FAR in April/May – how do I know if my 2012 FAR book is still good? I haven’t even used it yet because it’s my last part. Do I need to get in touch with Becker about a 2013 book? And the software?

    I heard from Roger CPA Review that the content doesn't change until June, so you should be good to go til then.

    CPA license in progress....

    I have 2013 FAR

    in class they but 2012 material

    if there is a change ,a change like remove entry from here but there

    or but it next page and few things like that

    for you that means no change at all cause it will not decrease one point in exam from you

    For FAR (which I took in January 2013), I used the Wiley 2012 book and Yaeger video lectures from 2011. Unless you're going into a year where really significant changes have been made (i.e. I wouldn't use Auditing 2012 if you're taking AUD in the third or fourth window this year), I think you're find with using material that is from a year or two back…

    also, here is what Becker says about using 2012 materials for 2013:

    Can I use the 2012 material to plan and study for my exam in 2013?

    The Financial, Regulation, and Business exams are not changing for 2013 and you should be able to use the 2012 materials (assuming your 18 month license is still valid) to study for these exams in 2013. For the first half of 2013, the Audit exam will also be unchanged and you will be able to study with your 2012 materials. However, starting on July 1, 2013, the AICPA's Clarified SAS will be tested on the Audit exam. Becker will be releasing updated materials in 2013 that will cover the Clarified SAS. You will need these materials if you plan to take the Audit exam on or after July 1, 2013. Our advice to you is to plan to take the Audit exam before the Clarified SAS become testable.
