Hi all! I just purchased the Becker review program, using the 0% financing payment option (so excited to be on my way to become a CPA!!!). However, when I applied for the loan the total amount to be paid was different then the amount on the order confirmation I received. I reached out to Becker and they told me that the financing application is an estimated amount, which is why it is on hold for 3 days, then I should receive an email with the actual loan amount. Now, on my loan application it also says that I only have 3 days to cancel my order. I find this to be a little fishy so I’m wondering if any of you guys had the same issue?

    Thank you so much!!

Got Becker through my company but the software itself is widely used by many CPA candidates. I wouldn't worry about them being “fishy.” The cost is just way too much in my opinion and if I had to pay out of my pocket it wouldn't be something I would buy. Have you looked into other software? If you do end up using becker, you will hear that phrase a lot from Olinto! 🙂 Good Luck!

I'm a bit confused why it's necessary to estimate an amount. Are they checking your credit score or something?

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)

@Spartans92, I agree, I would be surprised if Becker was being fishy, which is why I did confirm the loan even though I noticed the price difference. I would feel better if someone else told me that the same thing happened to them though.

@TheHoundThatRides, they told me that the sales tax calculation on the loan application is not very accurate, it's just an estimate. And I'm not sure if they'll be checking my credit score, although they did require me to enter a social security number.
