Just wanted to let people know that most (if not all) NYC testing centers are closed tomorrow. Prometric has yet to notify me. I only found out because I decided to check the website…

Luckily mine isn't scheduled until Friday. People who are now cancelled tomorrow can't test tomorrow and there are no spots available for the remainder of the testing period I assume. They now have to wait another month before they can test?

Luckily, I was able to reschedule. But pretty sure if there are no appointments left you have to wait until the next testing window opens.

Actually my testing center (on Broad) is not closed. It'll be interesting to see which ones close and how long it'll take.

Thanks for posting this, I saw that the NJ location was closed on the website (didn't get an email yet either) but I didn't think I could reschedule without paying. When I saw this I ran to my laptop and rescheduled for the next day lol, which was the last day available for any locations near me before this window closes, and I'm sure it's going to start filling up.

Seems like the closed the centers rather prematurely. One of my buddies was supposed to take the test at the Westbury location but he was notified last night it was closed. We got less than an inch of snow. How can they determine to close the Westbury center location, but leave the Melville center open which is 10 miles away. This “storm” was poorly handled by prometric.

My testing center was closed today and the storm is supposed to stop here around 9am tomorrow. My test is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
Does anyone know if there is a possibility of Prometric closing in the morning and NOT the afternoon?
It says that there are no spots open on friday or saturday at any testing location within a reasonable radius… does this mean if they're closed we will have to wait until April to sit?

@Elizabeth This is what NASBA has to say about it. It does give me the feeling they'd just tell you tough luck you have to test in April, but it does give an email address in case you have to request an NTS extension. I would be livid if I had to push my exam out a month, but especially this year, with all the score holds.

Yes. I'm pretty sure if it gets canceled and there are no spots available you have to wait until April. Although the snow is coming down, my testing center is still open according to the prometric link above which is kinda weird. Gives me confidence that Friday will be a go!

@Bourne I don't think the Broad street test center is open on Wednesday. Would have booked my original exam there had it been an option…

@bourne I am also taking my exam on Friday, weather has been stressing me out. Hopefully they do not close I really do not want to take it in April which would be my only and last shot at passing within the 18 month pd.

So I was suppose to take my exam today, and had to reschedule to tomorrow due to snow. I checked just to be sure, and sure enough they are now closed tomorrow. I had to call and reschedule because it was still recognizing me as scheduled online. The lady did say if there are no more times, I would have to wait until April. Luckily I got one of the last spots left at a location a little further out – at 2:30 on a Friday which sucks because I'll have to make that day of work up on Sunday – but whatever it takes to NOT have to wait until APRIL.

Closed tomorrow too?! Looks like it'll be done snowing tonight around 9-10. Hopefully a full 24 hours is enough time for them to reopen before the 8:30 am exam on Friday. Oh loooord what a waste of a word day today
