    Hi,

I’m planning on taking FAR 12/09/19. I have a Prometric 20 minutes from my house but they don’t have any opening ending November or early December. They have November 23 or January 02. I think one is too early and the other too far. I found another Prometric that is an hour away.

My NTS is fro FAR and AUD and expired 04/10/20
Should I take the exam and drive to Joliet (1 hour from my house) or take it January 20 minutes from home. I’m worried about studying until January is too many weeks.

Any advice is appreciated it 🙂

You have to decide what is best for you. In my opinion, I would take it 12/9 at the Joliet location if you are track with your studying to be ready by that date. By taking it on 12/9, you'll complete it in Q4 and have your AICPA score release by 12/19.

20 minute drive vs 60 minutes isn't that bad. My testing center was about an hour away.
12/9 makes the most sense as you're at the end of the testing window, so if it doesn't pan out you get results quickly and can get right back to reviewing for a Q1 test date.
I would reserve the 12/9 spot and keep watching. Another spot might open up closer to your house.

Book the one you are most comfortable with and keep checking for dates – you can change (up to 7 days out?) your date when something comes available or take the exam on the scheduled date. If I recall there is a change fee so know what that is before booking. People change their test dates all the time and availability rolls right with them.

    FAR 7/25/15 76!
    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
Ninja Book and MCQ and the forum - all the way!!!
and a little thing i like to call, time and effort!
if you want things to change, you have to do something different

as other people said, “keep checking” prometric website is the key
i scheduled for Nov 2x at first (b/c that was the only choice)
then, i checked almost every hour over a week to get the date (the beginning of Dec) i was targeting.
it seems no available seats will ever appear, but it might not.
the available dates frequently change! there are still many chances you'll eventually get the date/location you want.

Thank You, everyone, for the suggestions. I found an open appointment on December 06th at 9:00 a.m I have to be honest, I feel overwhelmed with all the material for FAR 25% of the Wiley material covered. Not sure if I should start jumping into MCQs I have Gleim test bank, ninja audio, and planning in updating my ninja subscription so I can have more MCQs. This is my first test and I feel a little lost. Getting bettewn 50 and 60 in the post-assessment test. Any tips or suggestion is more than welcome.
