You can help fellow CPA candidates without spamming another website. If you are looking for free advertising your efforts are better spent elsewhere. Feel free to stay and offer advice without the gratuitous links!

@ Jeff I apologize, I shouldn't have posted links to your site. You know how hard it is to start a website. I tried to take a shortcut I probably should not have. Feel free to delete my links. I will continue to work on improving my website and get traffic on my own.

@cardinalhoya have you ever worked in public accounting? I have worked 2600 hour in the past 12 months and devoted the time I used to put towards studying to my site. A71 and other sites like his inspired me to create something to help other people struggling to juggle work and studying. I have tried to bring as much original content to the table as possible and in the 2 weeks of being online have gotten over a 1000 page views from over 300 visitors. Some day I hope to have more of a 40 hour a week job and when that day comes I might have more than 5 hours a week to maintain my site. Let me know how many people you are trying to help pass the exam.

Question: I remember seeing you on twitter when you responded to something of mine and you said “Back in my day, we had to take the exam over 2 days.”

But now that I see your signature … I'm confus-ed.

I'm guessing the bulk of those page views were today, when you posted a link on a very highly trafficked site. But as for Cardinalhoya, he tries to help everyone on this site, so that's a moot question.

@Jeff Oh ya that was me, I was just trying to be funny. I passed the exam 2 years and 2 months ago. My Dad is always talking about back in his day he took it over 2 days….

@mla1169 – that is a negative, I got all my hits from linkedin and twitter and various accounting partners/college professors that I know that have promoted my site. However I will admit after today my hits increased to about 1400 from 1000 yesterday. I honestly had no idea how powerful this site was. You are the Master Jeff!

@BaseballCPA2 I took the whole month of June off for my wedding… woulda been closer to 2800 probably. I slacked.

I'm glad you're trying to help people pass the CPA exam. However, it's obviously more than that. You're clearly trying to make money off of it, because if you just wanted to help people, you'd do it on this site instead, as you'd get thousands upon thousands of more hits here. And, obviously, there's nothing wrong with trying to make money off of it. Jeff is doing it. I just don't think it's going to work out too well for you. You're about 2 years behind Jeff, and even then, I still feel like you don't have the credibility to give advice that people pay money for. It's one thing to fail the exam numerous times and then learn from it so that you comfortably pass the exam after. It's another to fail the exam 7 times and then pass with 77s (which very well could be attributed to luck / getting different questions on your exam). Your advice is definitely welcomed, but I don't know why anyone would pay money for your advice.

I think regardless of someone's test scores, they can still offer something that may be of help to others. Some of the most inspirational and helpful people who contribute to what makes this site special struggled their way through this exam. If only score was important, Jeff would probably only have bloggers that were CPA's that passed first try with only top scores. Not to discount high scores… I am in absolute amazement and admiration of people who score so high. But they aren't the only ones with insight…

    REG 72, 86 and DONE!!!
    BEC 80 🙂
    FAR 72, 78 🙂
    AUD 73, 76 🙂
