This post may not be what you think it is by the title. It is a post that You can take this CPA initials and do you know what with them!!! I have about had it with this exam! My wife is expecting our first child (a baby girl) in March and all I want to do is spend time with my wife (while we have the time just the two of us), let my child (although she is in the womb) get to know who her daddy is instead of being cooped up in a room studying when I get home, and get everything ready for her arrival. I have passed two parts and failed the two I have left and I am just tired of failing them, not knowing what to study, seeing the same things I have studied before and just not caring! I am a man of faith and have prayed and asked others to keep me in their prayers and again I have failed these parts twice! Oh and I have paid so much for Becker review materials (updates, expired license, etc.), cpa exam fees, NINJA review items, and I am getting to the part of draining my savings!!!! I have seen 3 people in my firm study the same time as me, pass all parts the first time, and they are now CPAs. I want a relationship with my wife and daughter and I have been ruining it for the 2 years we have been married trying to study for these exams. I will confess that I have not put 100% into studying to where all I do is eat sleep breathe CPA material. I have studied when I get home from work for hours, feel like I have not learned anything, got bored doing multiple choice over and over, doing multiple choice and getting them wrong, writing materials where it just feels like I am writing and what is that doing, etc. That is just ridiculous and life is not about this! Life is about faith, family, then career! I am sorry I am ranting but I just had to get my feelings, emotions, and heartache out there.

One more thing, the baby will sleep a lot, but not necessarily at night, so plan accordingly 🙂

@CR7 – No woman is too beautiful to be left alone. She was looking for an excuse to show her true self, a slut, and the exam was just an excuse. Hold your head high! Living well is the best revenge.

Kricket, It has been 7 years, so time and a wonderful wife heals everything. I just regret not been able to finish the other two parts, and that is the reason why I told him my story. I just hope I can pass these tests once again.

Well you picked a good topic to get the ball rolling….I feel for you because nothing anyone says will change your mind. This test, career, etc is entirely up to you. The A71 family mean well, and want to see you succeed, but again no one can change your mind. If you think you can”t, then you can't. There are so many stories of triumph on this site that I wondered myself where in the world did they find strength to take this thing 8x for one section, then 7x, then 5x, then 5x…..amazing and here you only took it twice. Really Cajun, is it about the baby, God, bible class, the family? or are you simply afraid to fail. The good news is you don't have to fail again. You could regroup, get some different study materials, and just do it. After the baby is born, and you go to bible class, etc., you will go to work and you will be passed up for promotion because you will not qualify. Those that have passed with flying colors it seemed will be enjoying the life you want with your family. Why? Because they paid the price, studied, passed and are certified. So there are a lot of examples to give, and plenty of testimonies of how hard of a task becoming certified was, but only you can come to the conclusion of what you want. But while you are making up your mind, think about the regret you will feel for quitting, and how much more time you will spend wishing you had stuck it out.

So, look at it again, take a one more day to melt down, then get to work. You still have time to make that February test date count.

Remember: You can, Nothing is too hard for God.

    Well said tncincy!

Cajun, I understand your frustrations. I've sat for the exam while pregnant and then studied and took an exam with a 5 month old baby (that didn't sleep through the night) and a toddler.

I'm risking losing my 1st credit now if I don't pass FAR by end of February. I want to quit SO BADLY sometimes, but then all that other time I've already sacrificed with them will be for nothing. As much as it hurts to be away from those we love we can't have all that time we spent go to waste. Time is so much more valuable now.

Give yourself a day to be upset and then get back to it. You've come too far to quit. Maybe you need to change up your study method. And, when the baby is older think of how you will tell her your tale of the torture you went through for this license. Remember the more miserable you are the more likely you are to pass 🙂

Thank ya'll so much for the stories and the motivation. Reading all these posts has really uplifted me and to know people on here really care about others passing and to have my pity party and rant and then get back into it!

Kricket – I graduated with my Bachelor's and Masters from University of Louisiana at Lafayette

I feel like a whiny baby at times because some people on here have taken parts 5x, 6x, 7x, etc and they are still pressing forward and I only failed 2 tests twice. I am sure it is because I haven't done ALL the multiple choice questions in Becker, etc but I have written all the NINJA notes more than once and that didn't seem to help or for me to remember what I needed for those questions and SIMS they asked on the exam.

I do want to be able to share this hard time and hopefully before she comes or shortly after the success that I had from not giving up.
