I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

Yes, it will be interesting to see what people say about govt/npo, the FAR topic that gets the most bitching about. Actually that part was the easiest for me because I spent a huge number of hours on it. If govt/npo had been like 50% of my test, as it was for some other folks on here (or so they said, no way to verify) then I might've passed FAR in January. As it stands now I will not be taking it again until Q4. So hopefully by then I'll have a better idea about how much testing it will get. If it does drop to 10% then the AICPA knew that they were overtesting it…which in fact they were. Almost nobody works in those areas, so why break your back studying those topics which are not even GAAP?

Whenever I tell you all “I'm in” for these power weekends, I feel like each of you are holding me accountable LOL. So, I'm glad to report that I completed everything I set out to complete this past weekend and then some.

Floreat- yes, same time next weekend. šŸ™‚

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

Need to finish the last 300 MCQ for AUD in Roger. I'll do 120 of those 300 this weekend. I never like doing more than 60 MCQ in a day because after 60, I find myself just wanting to go do something else. And, don't feel like my retention of anything I might learn from those questions stays with me if I try to do more than that in one day.

All 2,569 questions have now been completed in Gleim's TB (took 17 days), and I'm getting ready to do the NFP sims. I definitely gassed out with the Govt and NFP chapters towards the end. This weekend I will start my second round, working only missed questions.

@Mtaylo, how long would you say it took you to complete those 2,569 questions, in number of hours?

It's showing 123 hours, but I'm sure that is inflated since I'm always logged in. Maybe 100?

Got a 70 on my first practice exam w/ becker – did poorly on the MCQ and did well on 7/8 sims… 40 of 66 right on MCQ – a few I just spaced on I suppose and missed out on easy points. Will review in the morning, but take Friday nights off to relax.
