I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

Knocked out 143 MCQs on with Roger's IPQs. Only scored 77%. If Roger's IPQs barely even scratch the surface, then I've got a long way to go.

17 Days or so out from FAR – Started my final review yesterday – Utilizing Becker – Have completed 100% of materials, lectures, mcq's, etc.- Started my prep 2/1 for April 17th test date – first few weeks I was very relaxed because I had a lot of time (wrapping up 150/paid severance for previous career/etc).. I could have crammed faster, but I have the time and know myself.

Here's todays review progress – This is utilizing zero notes until after – I typically break up the section into two 25 question (or 20 question blocks) to review right/wrong and go from there so I don't get bad habbits. I think do a review of all 50 questions and then rewrite problem questions and mental note stupid mistakes (like non-voting common shares!)

    F1/F2 – 50 MCQ's – 40/50 – 80%
    F3 – 50 MCQS – 27/50 – 52% – EEK, at least I know
    F4 – 40 MCQS – 33/40 – 82%

I'll Get at least another section done today and likely a test bank of f1-f5 as well (got a couple more hours at the lib).

Count me in! I'm hoping to put in 20 hours this weekend. I'm currently working on AUD A3 Module 2. Hope to finish A3 by tmw.

Remember guys, its not the number of hours, but the quality of the hours spent.

don't kid yourself and think because you spent 10-20 hrs studying that you actually did anything productive. Identification of when your brain is reading the same paragraph 20 times, is time to take a few minutes to go watch a funny video on youtube.

@ThomasHallberg, my AUD exam will be on the 5th of May. How about yours?

BTW, did you purchase the new AUD textbook? I haven't purchased it yet. I've been just watching lectures. Hope those lectures been showing all pages of the new textbook.

Well, I tried to study today, but only got about an hour in. My mind was just somewhere else. I feel bad for not trying to stay at the library and stick it out, but why keep studying something you know you are gonna have to go back to it? Like Cessna said, quality over quantity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds like everyone's on it! I love these threads.

Logged six solid hours today. Finished up Property Transactions today, but still don't feel comfortable with the material. Performance on practice tests and SIMs were dismal. I want to stay with it until I get to my comfort zone, but think I have to move on. I still have 11 chapters to cover. I may have to push REG into Q3. It's okay, though, I'm going to pass.

Tomorrow is Corporate Taxable Income – like a job. Hang in there everyone.

    FAR: 80 (10/28/2016)
    AUD: 85 (2/6/2017)
REG: DSIT (Dragon Slayer in Training) (5/2017)
BEC: DSIW (Dragon Slayer in Waiting) (7/2017)

@mtaylo24 yeah bonds is exhausting for sure! Sounds like a busy weekend for you, I haven't gotten to the leases material yes but I remember it being a big headache in college so I'm not looking forward to it. Btw, rooting for you to crush this exam big time!!!

@cessnapilot30 My feeling exactly, my early failures were long 8-10 hour study sessions.

I'd rather be consistent over the long haul, even when I have a hectic week. I've found 1 hour over 7 days is significantly more effective then 7 hours on 1.

Agree with everyone here – stayed in the lib from noon to 4:30, with breaks in there for a snack, browsing, clearing my head – got 180 mcqs done and reviewed/rewrote notes for wrong questions – came home, grabbed some dinner and some TV and just took 90 mins to review notes and do another 50 mcq for the 5
    Chapters I reviewed today.

F3 and f5 gave me trouble when doing 40 question blocks.
