I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

    /rant

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

    Happy Friday, Power Weekenders!

I'm in for another Power Weekend. Anyone else?

I'm on the last chapter for REG – Debtor Creditor relationships. I'll work it all weekend, like a job – again. I only have this weekend and next before my test. I hope I can get the testing done before the weekend is over. If so, I can dive into review starting Monday.

    FAR: 80 (10/28/2016)
    AUD: 85 (2/6/2017)
REG: DSIT (Dragon Slayer in Training) (5/31/2017)
BEC: DSIW (Dragon Slayer in Waiting) (7/2017)

@Floreat I'm in and determined to study A LOT this weekend, second to last study weekend for me too!

So far, I've gotten through all the reading material and taken one MCQ and/or SIM in most study units. This weekend I am going to focus on working as many MCQs/SIMs/WCs as possible, in the areas I'm currently weakest in. Specific goal is to get through 26 Gleim “sets” of MCQs/SIMs/WCs, covering COSO/Working Capital/Budgeting/Cost Accounting (largest focus). Goal by Monday is to feel at least somewhat comfortable with the majority of these topics.

AH! Taking AUD Monday. Still got three chapters to go. Plus gotta take a bunch of cumulative quizzes. It's crunch time! Who else has a test next week?

I'm in. I've got a solid 5 hours of study time before dinner, then i'll be back at it for another three hours after dinner. I'm in the MCQ/review stage for this beast called BEC. Hope to get at least 250 MCQs done this weekend.

I'm also attacking AUD on Monday. I just took what will be my one and only practice test in Wiley and score a 74% overall. That is OK as it's about what I've done in the past on practice tests. I've got a pretty good routine going with my exams so far for my final weekend of study. Go through weak areas until I can get my average and trending scores up. AUD is the test I'm most scared of, so I will be praying to the CPA god(s) on this one.

Finished the final chapter today for REG. Sureties get on my nerves, so I'll have to circle back to them for sure. Tomorrow is testing. It looks like I'll be able to get a jump start on review, so that feels good. I hope studying has been fruitful for all.

@CPA8675309: Best wishes to you on Monday. I think you'll be just fine.

Thanks @Floreat! I really hope you're right. I'm taking my last test in July and I'm hoping I can enjoy the month of August without finding out on the 18th that I failed AUD. AUD is a tricky, little beast. I'm doing better on MCQs than I would have expected, because compared to FAR and BEC, I do not feel that I “know” the material.

@CPA8675309 I am taking AUD as well and I know what you mean by the trickiness. I am doing my final review right now and I feel like there are so many little things to remember. I have no idea how to retain everything. How are you going about this?

I am in this weekend. Finishing up A1 review with some Becker practice skill sets and hoping to get through A2 review by the end of the day. Good luck to all of us!

@CPA8675309 and @SchruteBeet – How are you guys feeling? I took AUD today and it's hard to say how I feel as the real exam wasn't what I had expected. Let's just say I did really well when I was studying an practicing in GLEIM. Today – not so much. LOL. I actually had fun studying for this section. (crazy – I know. But 100% honest.)

@loveandbeloved, I felt pretty good about it. I thought my first testlet was pretty easy. The second was pretty difficult and hit on some areas that I hadn't practiced enough questions in. It was nothing terrible though. I find it difficult to judge sims. I didn't think they were crazy difficult, but I'm sure other than the research question, I didn't ace any of them either. I wish I could talk about one, but I won't other than to say I felt like the instructions were a little vague, so I worry that one was a fail. I find AUD to be odd (haha), because it seems like you either score in the 90s or you fail. So, I'll just assume I scored about 95 for now. 🙂

I've moved on to REG. I plan on working hard tomorrow and then taking a break for the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone else gets a chance this weekend to relax away from this test and enjoy the holiday weekend a bit.

My extended Q2 Power Weekend has come to a close. I tacked on a couple of PTO days to the holiday weekend to get myself straight. My comfort level is not where I want it to be, but I think that's par for the course. I'm going into battle tomorrow morning at 8am with all the preparation I could muster. I think I can limp away with a 75. Then, I'm going to have my first eat out lunch since February! Bruises, wounds and all.

I'm on to BEC for Q3. I've enjoyed reading all of the posts here. They've been motivational for me.
So, thank you all for participating. Best wishes to all for good studies and passing scores.
