I’m in the home stretch of my initial review of FAR.

Coming up on the schedule for this weekend? Government/NFP Accounting…

I remember, vaguely, a long time ago (four years ago)…I took a class on this. The ONLY thing I remember is LITERALLY begging for a passing grade after taking the final. I hate this subject with a FIERY burning passion. I wish to destroy it with the force of 10,000 suns, and one more sun for good measure. I would rather spring clean the hell out of my house than re-learn about funds, grants, and whatever the hell else is in this section. May the seven gods be with those who are subject to the torture that is Government/NFP accounting.

Well in light of my sessions to come this weekend, I’m hoping to put in 16 hours this weekend JUST for this lovely section of accounting. Anyone else putting in serious hours this weekend?

In for this weekend – Finishing up Chapter 10 of Becker today and starting my final review Saturday (Tom) Morning – Will get 15 hours in over the weekend at least – 5 each day, and enjoy my TV time sat and sun night.

I'm 17 days out from FAR, with the following two fridays being mock test days and every other day as a review day in addition to finishing my last two classes to graduate/hit 150.

For my review I think Im going to, review all my notes/problem areas/rewrite notecards with problem areas, and then do 66 MCQS for each F1-F10 section as many times as I can in addition to 66MCQ “practice” tests often as well.

How are people prepping for the sims?

I'm going to head on over to the library first thing in the morning in an attempt to limit potential distractions and to focus on this week's study goals. Please don't get me wrong, I love my house, but I need to get out of my comfort zone for AUD. Studying for this retake has me wanting to shake things up a bit.

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

I'm putting in my normal 3-4 hours of multiple choice each day for REG.

That will makes 120-160 multiple choice.

I just did the little calculation in my head 3.5 hours a day X 7 days a week times 4 weeks = 98 hours for the month of April plus whatever I do in May. Lets say 125-150 hours of multiple choice between now and test time.

I'm gonna kill this bastard of test, I feel it.

Even made a little excel spread sheet to log my hours.

Not putting in serious hours right now, but I do feel you about Govt/NPO. I don't know what review course you're using but I found Gleim's chapters on those topics to be excellent.
I didn't use them before my last FAR attempt but after failing it, I sought out another resource – Gleim – and suddenly I “got it” more. Oddly, I did ok on those topics on the exam despite the score. But that was because I went back and re-read my old Advanced Accounting textbook because I had completely forgotten those things since school.
I know what you mean about those topics though. They are very confusing, and they *were* heavily tested. I hear they're not going to be tested as much anymore, which for many people will be a blessing.

You'll do well to spend all those hours on those topics though because unlike quite a few other areas of FAR study, govt/npo is one that you can count on for both MCQ and SIMs.

@cpain2k17…I had to stretch bonds over 2 days and it took way too much out of me! I got leases, stockholders equity and hopefully business combos this weekend. Its not gonna be a fun stretch at all. I didn't even bother studying last night because I was way too pooped out from the week. Needed to recharge, but now its time to hit it hard. Good luck everybody!

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
