I used Yaeger for REG in November, and passed with an 88. Here's what I did:
As I was watching a lecture, I had a Word document open (on a separate monitor), and created my own “outline” for each module. (had to pause the video many times to type, each hour of video would take me at least 90 minutes). If there was a formula, or other key concept that I felt would make a good flashcard, I would create it at that point.
When Phil went over a MCQ, I would pause the video and try it myself first.
At the end of each module, I would go to the Wiley Test Bank and do some MCQs over that section until I was comfortable with the material, and then I would add questions from previous modules to keep it fresh.
I reveiwed my typed outline/notes, and then printed and put in a 3-ring binder, with tabs for each module.
When I had completed all videos, I had a nice binder with the “essential” information in it, and a nice stack of flashcards that I took with me everywhere.
Then I purchased the CRAM videos, and watched them in the last 3 weeks before my exam, and instead of following along with the Wiley book, I followed with my binder of notes.
The last week, I pounded out the MCQs until I was scoring 85% – 90% on a random group of 20 questions from each section. If I was weak in an area, I would do more until my scores improved.
For business law (which I struggled with), I listened to the Yaeger audio every chance I got. I think this really helped.
Do as many MCQs as possible – not just the ones Phil assigns. Even Phil, who has said to do only the ones he assigns, admitted to me on the phone that he's re-thinking that strategy.
