Variances are a killer. You could spend a whole month just memorizing all of the variance formulas. Unfortunately, Becker just confused me even more about variances. However, Cindy at Yaeger simplified the whole process of studying variances. Cindy had her own notes on variances and I just memorized a half page of her notes. Variances, after Cindy’s notes and explanations, became very easy.

As I have said before, I was very disappointed in the very high price of Becker’s BEC and the poor quality of their explanations. Becker is very good at AUD and business law in REG where all you have is memorization; however, Becker does a very poor job explaining and working problems. I got a lot more for a lot less money with Yaeger’s BEC, REG and FAR courses.

Becker is a killer if you have to pay for it yourself. On the other hand, Yaeger is a bargain compared to Becker. If your firm pays for Becker, give it your best shot and stick with Becker. A lot of people pass with Becker. However, if you fail a CPA exam using Becker, buy Yaeger with your own funds and use Becker as a secondary, backup course.

I may sound like a salesman for Yaeger, but I do not get paid by Yaeger. If it were not for Yaeger’s teaching courses and Dr. Phil Yaeger’s help over the phone, I still would be taking these exams. I passed FAR, REG and BEC on the first try with Yaeger.
