Who else is studying for their last section? - Page 3

I just started studying for AUD yesterday (retake, lost credit) and my motivation is nowhere to be found. I am waiting on my BEC score (also a retake) and I feel somewhat confident that I did well enough to pass so this is hopefully my last section. I am taking audit on August 28th and pushing it back isn’t an option because I lose credit for REG the same day I’m taking AUD. I just have no motivation right now! The material isn’t hard because I’ve been in audit for over 3 years now and I already passed this exam once but it’s SO dry. All I can hear is Tim Gearty’s voice saying “again, again, highlight this, alright scholars, again”. I love Becker and its helped me pass all of the sections but seriously, the audit material is so boring. Not to mention, work is insanely busy right now which is really distracting. I just hope that I somehow black out the month of August and manage to get it done and then wonder for the rest of my life, how I accomplished it!

I passed Reg, took Far on the 22nd, and am studying for Aud…well, if I stop daydreaming about having all four passed I will be studying for Aud. I PRAY that August 22nd will be my last score release.

Studying with Wiley Review, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja Audio.
    Retakes with Ninja MCQ only...awesome!
    Far - 1/28 72, 7/22 79
    Aud - 2/28 70, 8/14 83
    Bec - 4/10 80
    Reg - 5/30 64, 7/2 82

Ex Lurker, I haven't scheduled BEC yet. I've only been a casual studier so far: (1) not able to focus because of wait for REG score and (2) I've got an anime convention coming up with my daughter, so this time was allocated to costume making anyway. I've read 2 of the 8 Wiley chapters and have been listening to Ninja audio, with the idea that if I feel ready by the end of August, I can try to find an open spot last minute, or test in October.

I'm sending off my application for BEC today now that I know I don't have to retake REG. I wanted to pay just the one application fee.

It's a short section– you can have it down by 8/27!

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Kimboroni, thanks for the response. Sounds like a great plan. I'll definitely take short break myself. It feels pretty sweet to knock out 3 exams. Hopefully, I don't slack off too much. I hear BEC can be a trap. I'll try not to take this section lightly. For now, we will enjoy our pass. Enjoy the convention!

    F: Apr 14' Passed
    A: May 14' Passed
    R: Jul 14' Passed
B: Aug 14' Rematch in Oct *Passed*

Yes, I think the trick with BEC is to not get lulled into a false sense of security since it's supposed to be “the easiest one.” We still have to be diligent about studying.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

My last section is REG!!!!!!!!! On that same token – I have this question for you all – For those of you that used Becker Flashcards in your study regimen – what did you think? Were they helpful? I'm trying to find a different way to get all those tax rules cemented in my brain. I've been using Ninja flashcards (Ninja audio, Ninja notes with Yaeger videos, Wiley test bank) so far – and they've been more then awesome in helping me pass FAR, AUD, and BEC – I just feel I need a little push in memorizing the concepts and flashcards using the brainscape app has done it for me…. I'd appreciate any advice!!!!

    FAR - 02/24/14 - 86
    AUD - 04/03/14 - 88
    REG - 05/29/14 - 68 Retook 11/22/14 - 81 I PASSED!!!!!!!!! IM DONE! Thank You Jesus!
    BEC - 07/19/14 - 85

I just passed my 3rd section on Friday…what a feeling! Whoever said that lights a fire under you, isn't kidding! I was ready to start studying FAR for an August 29th exam date a few minutes ago but realized that doesn't leave room for contingency. Not to hijack or anything, but does anyone feel that I could use only Ninja Notes / Audio, Wiley Focus Notes, and Ninja MCQ to pass FAR in October? I just feel that reading and lectures gets forgotten by the time I'm done. Any input?

@DHO – I have no idea, depends on how comfortable you are with FAR. I used becker and didn't do a single optional practice question or simulation and still did relatively well. If money isn't a concern, I would attempt FAR at the end of August and hope for a pass. The worst that can happen is failing it, in which case it wouldn't matter anyways since it doesn't preclude you from attempting again in October.

On another note, all I have left is BEC and WOW! The amount of formulas and diversity of information is ridiculous. I HATE BEC! I would take FAR 4 times over having to take this exam once.

    REG - 88 - 8 Weeks (Becker, Ninja Audio/Flashcards, Wiley TB)
    FAR - 87 - 10 Weeks (Becker, Ninja Audio)
AUD - 98 - 6 Weeks (Becker, Ninja Audio, Ninja MCQ)
    BEC - 87 - 2 Weeks (Becker & Ninja Audio)

I really like the Becker flashcards! I have them for all the sections and I think they really helped me.

    To Amanda:

Please don't read the book, no matter which book you are reading, I don't think it will help.

My suggestion is to buy NINJA MCQ and just do it! If you do 90 MCQ + 7 sim every day you will pass without reading the book. The sim is the important part, it looks exactly the same and cover all the sim material on the test.

I was able to pass AUG in my first try (with 1.5 mo studying) while having NO Auditing or tax or law experience. I only have 2 month of review experience and i just go to test center to roll my dice.

Trust me, if you have 3 year of experience, you will guess the answer right without thinking. I finish the exam within 2 hours and walk out knowing I passed with high score.

I don't think reading the book is a solution. The book cover too many things that won't be on the test. The test question is very very very general. (Doesn't ask you any specific law or rules that is above common knowledge).

Passing on 28th is not a problem.

Omg I am in basically the exact same position as you! I wish I had AUD last because I personally did not mind studying for AUD. However, when I took AUD, I remember the lectures being dry and boring too.

I remember thinking on Chapters 3, “Hey I am almost done with the lectures” which motivated me to finish the rest. So maybe you can just think of it that way? Then all I did was MCQ for two weeks and read the NINJA notes 5 times. I liked AUD because, for me, I could just sit back and do MCQ after MCQ without using a calculator lol

    Lets pass these together!!!
