    Hello,

    I have to travel to other country from March 22 to April 11.

    if I start studying now, would I have enough time to study FAR before traveling? If not, which one shoud I take first, BEC or REG?

    Or, should I just stick with FAR and take it after the trip? I’m worried I won’t be studying much while traveling.

    Kind advise would help me a lot.

    Thank you!

    FAR first

    2 and a half months are enough for FAR if you put enough time in study. Study now and you can take it before March 10 if you have NTS already or will receive it soon. After come back, start AUD if you passed FAR

    @cjoh1066 If you start studying now, you will have enough time to prepare and sit for FAR before your travels – assuming you have a written game plan and execute it every week as best you can.

    Once you get to the BEC and REG stage, I would take REG first, because (at least for me) it required just as much attention (if not more than) as FAR did. I didn't take BEC in the new format, however, and I hear that's pretty hard. I think you'd be fine to take them in any order you like.

    I hope this was somewhat helpful!

    I should've mentioned it in the previous post that I have a baby boy who needs my full attention. So, I am currently studying at night time for 3 hours and few more hours on the weekend. I felt like it's not enough to sit before March…

    For REG and BEC, I will take REG first… Thanks for your insight @Go.For.Broke !

    Make sure you take FAR before AUD and after that it’s mostly your preference. I Recommend FAR-AUD-REG-BEC.

    If passing rates mean anything to you…

    https://www.aicpa.org/content/dam/aicpa/becomeacpa/cpaexam/psychometricsandscoring/passingrates/downloadabledocuments/pass-rates-2017.pdf

    BEC is short and has highest pass rate. I'm not saying it's easy, but if you're in a time crunch and you want to take a shot at passing one while juggling your baby and the rest of your life, think about your move.

    Good luck!

    @Alex

    Thank you. I will make sure to take FAR before AUD.

    @Will

    Yes, my baby boy got ear infection last week and caught a flu yesterday with high fever, he's still sick and will be sick for the rest of the week according to the doctor. After all that, now I'm thinking over for what to take first. I will look into BEC tonight to debate.. Thank you!

    I took BEC first and it was easily the worst mistake I ever made. I passed it before I started working and struggled to find the time to study for what I would call the more “labor intensive” exams. Get FAR out of the way first; from there it’s preference. AUD has some overlap with FAR. I work in tax so most of us ended with REG, but I know some people would rather get it out of the way earlier in the process, like I wish I had done with FAR.

    NJ Candidate

    BEC - PASS - Becker
    FAR - 70, Retake 7/15/16 - Becker (+NINJA MCQ for retake)
    AUD - 10/1/16
    REG - 11/16

    The question of which exam to take first is always tricky. Some people say FAR is really difficult, some say it is easy. For me, I struggled with FAR. I failed it four times. With regards to REG, for some reason I just understood it. I studied for two weeks and passed it. One of my friends is switched with my situation. He struggled with REG but studied two weeks for FAR and scored a 92.

    It all depends on you, man. Who knows, you may find FAR to be easy while you might struggle with REG.

    Hopefully, whatever you choose yields positive results.

    FAR - 75 | REG - 87 | AUD - 82 | LAW - 81

    Biggest thing is to take FAR before AUD. Other than that it just comes down to personal choice.

    Definitely agree that FAR should come first. Although, if you're somebody who works in tax or has a knack for tax and business law-type stuff, REG could come before FAR. Agreed wholeheartedly that FAR needs to precede AUD and BEC. BEC is probably the easiest, but like AUD, I think doing it before FAR is not a good idea.

    1) FAR or REG
    2) FAR or REG
    3) AUD
    4) BEC

    I noticed that both AUD and BEC had FAR questions on them – not too many, but definitely a few, and they caught me off guard. I've read some stuff on here from people who got an onslaught of FAR questions on AUD and BEC – like, on the SIMs, not just the MCQ like I had. That's why doing FAR first is advisable. The test makers can pretty much ask you anything they want on the tests…they won't put AUD or REG questions on FAR, but I think they consider FAR the basis for the rest, so don't ignore that.

    @crazyleon. Thanks for breaking it down. That makes since that FAR could appear on other tests. So taking FAR first might help. Appreciate the post.
