    Hello, I am new to the forum and have realized this is the perfect place to get some questions answered.

    I just finished my Masters in accounting and I am ready to being studying for the CPA. I have chosen to buy the Becker material and use that for studying. I am looking to take my first exam in late Jan/Feb ’13. My question is, should I go ahead and sign up and get everything taken care of before I spend the money on Becker in case something happened? I am not 100% sure how everything works so still trying to figure this whole process out. I have met all the requirements so that shouldn’t be an issue.

    Thank you for your help!

    I think you should go ahead and submit your application before you invest in a review course as expensive as Becker. If something were to happen then you would be out several thousand dollars.

    Definately make sure you are qualified to sit first. IMHO theres no need to start studying 3+ months before sitting for an exam anyway. 6-8 weeks tops should be fine, believe it or not theres much more to be said for short term memory in this beast.

    As hilton and mla have said…get the approval from your state's board of accountancy and then buy the study material. Once you get your study material start studying anf schedule your exam. You would need 4-8 weeks of intense studying to pass each section.

    @nill

    The 18 months window starts when you pass one exam.
