Do you count time you listen to ninja audio? I’ll listen to it about 8 hours a week between my car and at home. Do you also count time you pull out and read the ninja notes on an iPhone? As that is a lot of time there. Thx ninjas.

Personally, I don't count either of them. I would maybe count the reading ninja notes if it's for an extended period of time.

You have to remember, it doesn't really matter how long or what your goal is when it comes to studying each week, as long as you're learning the info at a good pace.

I agree with Bourne, focus less on hours and more on learning the material. The time it takes for each candidate varies and you will figure out how much is enough time per week.

It's not about the time spent…it's about whether it works for you. If you can do this, and it helps you pass, it counts.

There were several sections on which I HAD to spend a lot more than 25 hours in a week. A LOT MORE. I didn't use a stop watch. I studied until I felt somewhat comfortable with the material. There were a few sections where that number was lower than 20-25…but many where it was FAR higher.

I'd worry about question score progress and understanding the material…not time spent and logged.

As others have said you're taking the time required way too literally. Those are just recommended hours. If you're fresh out of school it might take you less. If you're a slow learner it might take you more. Also, quality of studying matters and having a good method matters. For instance, not that you are doing this, but you probably would fail if all you did was listen to audio for 25 hours a week instead of doing a combination of activities to enhance your knowledge retention.

Also, in my opinion, if you're trying to justify spending less time studying then you probably aren't as committed to this process as you need to be.

I am a slow learner so I need at least 6 hours a day. No way I can pass this exam if I was working full time with family responsibilities.

I second everyone else-when I studied for these tests, I felt like I was always studying, but I would be hard-pressed to tell you how many hours exactly i studied….I had a goal for each day and each week and if I achieved it and retained the information, it was a good day. there were days where I would waste 2 hours because it just wasn't working and do the same amount of work in 30 min. the next day…

@Ajaz0810 I track my time for studying (and also work) using the time-tracking site/app Toggl. I do include time that I'm listening to or watching audio/video, but I add the specific thing I'm doing as the description (plus video, audio, MCQ, etc.), so I can separate it from MCQ time if I'm trying to analyze how much time I've studied. I don't have a specific weekly or total hour goal, though, so my time tracking is primarily meant to be a status/check-up as I get closer to an exam.

Of course the audio, video, and notes are valuable, but I'd say they don't “weigh” as much as actually working problems and then understanding the explanations for those problems.

Oh yeah I track time too on my google calendar. I write down how much time i spend reading or working out problems, etc. This way I know if I am slacking. I always give 100% when I study as well. I can only give 100% if I take a lot of breaks otherwise my study session would be worthless. Basically I have to take a good amount of breaks. Keep track of your breaks as well. You will know deep inside if you are studying well or not. You can't lie to yourself, at least I hope not! lol
