I’m at a loss as to what to do with this exam at this point. I’ve been trying to pass this exam since September 2009, and I’m still not done. It took me a year and a half to pass my first exam (FAR), and then I ended up passing AUD, and REG. I kept retaking BEC and never passed it. I ended up with a 71 on BEC in the my last window before my FAR credit expired. After that, I ended up losing credit for AUD and REG as well because I kept retaking FAR and BEC, but never passed. Last year, I started all over from scratch, and I was able to pass REG and AUD for the second time, and now I’m trying to pass FAR and BEC again. I found out last night that I just failed BEC again with a 74. I’m at the point where I just do not know what to do – I’ve probably spent close to $20,000 in the last six years trying to pass this exam between the review courses and exam fees, and the only thing I have to show for it is more failing grades then I ever thought possible, no social life, and no money. I’m just so tired of studying, and I’m at the point where I don’t think I even care about becoming a CPA because this is so frustrating and disheartening. I do not know how to study for FAR and BEC differently so that I finally pass – I’m well into the double digits trying to pass both of the these exams and it is just ridiculous. I’ve tried studying on my own with Becker, and I’ve gone to the live classes….I don’t know what else to do.
This test just makes me feel like a failure and dumb….which is not at all motivating to keep doing this to myself. Sorry for the long rant, but getting that 74 last night really killed me.
