When I should I begin taking the exams?

    Hey gang,

Long time reader, first time poster. Dig the site, Jeff. I am wondering when I should begin taking the exams. I am finishing up my junior year right now and am taking an auditing class. I also have a friend’s old Becker AUD text. I feel like I am strong in auditing and could study Becker and pass the exam this summer, but I won’t be taking Advanced Accounting until next spring, so I don’t want to jump the gun by taking AUD and then wait to take the other exams while letting the 18-month window slowly (quickly) close.

I am also wondering when I should purchase my review software. If I decide to wait and take FAR next May after my Advanced Accounting course, should I purchase the 2012 software in December for a good, long review, or should I wait until the 2013 software and risk not having enough time to review? I would rather study slowly for a few months than cram for a few weeks. I am interested in your suggestions and what has worked for you. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Do you need to graduate before you take the exams? Not sure how that rule varies by state.

After you apply and recieve your authorization to test, just purchase your review course and go ahead and start taking your exams.
