    Hey guys,

I’ll be finally finished reading through all of REG text and taking notes by tomorrow or early Saturday and ready to start my final 2 week review of MCQ’s, note review, etc. this weekend.

I haven’t done ANY MCQ’s yet, how do you approach them initially? Would you go through every topic one by one and try to do all the MCQ’s topic by topic? Do you do a set number of MCQ’s topic by topic, leaving some in each topic untouched and once you get through some in every topic, do a cummulative review of questions you haven’t done? Or do you do cummulative review of all topics from the start?

I’m always curious how others attack MCQ review.

I like to go topic by topic. I also like to write or type out ones I get incorrect or I wasn't 100% sure of the answer when I answered the question. So I would go through each topic once, doing 30 MCQs for each, and then cycle back through. I then do pop quizzes of several topics at once, to help me get ready for exam day, since I know I won't see all of one topic in a row. As I get more familiar with the topic, or start missing very few questions in a topic, I may skip that topic for a few days and focus on topics where I am not as strong.

I like to do 20 from varied topics, rather than going topic-by-topic, so I just select all topics and go at it. After I've done several hundred, if I have a particularly weak area, I'll either re-read the appropriate section or do extra MCQs in that section.

I always went topic by topic and I did print screen of the most difficult questions which came with a good explanation. I reviewed them later to make sure I remembered the concepts.

Is it smart to do all the questions in the test bank after reading a chapter? That's what I'm currently doing now.

Depends how much you remember after reading the chapter. I had to take notes and study a little bit in order to do well 🙂

Honestly, I can get like 70-80 after reading the chapter. But of course I go through the chapter more thoroughly and brush up on concepts before I sit for the exam.

I finish lectures first. Then I do about 3 to 4 practice sessions of 40-50 questions a pop. From here, I get a base line of what sections I'm proficient in and what sections I need work in. I attack the lowest scoring section work by re-reading that chapter and working the examples in the book. Afterwards, I do 20-30 MCQs on that section alone, hopefully boosting my overall score on that area. I then select questions that I've missed at least once to make sure I've learned from my mistakes. Then, I move on to the next problem area, and repeat this process until I feel proficient in all areas.
