what's harder, AUD or BEC? - Page 3

    I know its a matter of strengths and weaknesses but for those who have passed both, how do the difficulty of the questions compare to BEC? How difficult is AUD overall?

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

    plenty of bookkeepers are taking the cpa. One can argue that there are more bookkeepers than auditors taking it because auditors are usually too busy (and better paid) than bookkeepers and thus, will allocate less of their time to study for the cpa. A bookkeeper is motivated to move ahead and is more likely to register/study for the cpa

    Every entry level auditor takes the CPA exam. A lot of bookkeepers don't even bother.

    I know three auditors and not a single one of them has the motivation/time to study (and they are all pretty well paid so they dont care)

    I liked AUD the most and passed on the first try, and even though I failed BEC, I still think AUD is more difficult.

    Neither lol. They're both pretty easy…focus your time and energy on REG and FAR. But realistically, everyone is different, so it's gonna depend on what your strengths and weaknesses are.

    @baseball LOL…I'd say bec is harder cuz of cost /managerial accounting. Audit is just memorizing reports, and distinguishing test types and which rules govern what, risk and crap..not many calculations.

    For me, BEC was definitely harder. Too much material to cover in the exam.

    B: 71, 79

    A: 75

    F: 70, 10/24/11

    R: 11/29/11

    AUD: 75 Expired 12/11 - Retesting in 2/13
    BEC: 79 Expired 12/11
    FAR: 70, 10/24/11
