[GSU-CPA]

For those that are done or almost done… what was the hardest part in your opinion.

I know it will vary from person to person but i am just curious…

I start studying for RAG in about a week and it will be my first exam. Seems like alot of people are having trouble with that part so i am a bit apprehensive.

AUD - May 30
FAR - Q3 depending on if i pass above two in Q2

Auditing was my CPA exam nightmare!!! Give my REG anytime over the subjective, slippery, and ambiguous nature of audit! FAR is a beast, don't get me wrong, but I don't hate it with the same intensity that I do audit. In fact, just thinking about the audit MCQS makes me a little salty. Materiality (a polite way of suggesting a balance is actually wrong, BTW) does not exist in tax land…balances are either correct or incorrect and that's just the way I like it! 😉

FAR – it was a beast and I hated it. It's the only one I had to take twice (got a 74 the first time!!).

Most people look at me like I'm crazy, but REG was my favorite.

FAR took the longest to prepare for but it was my easiest test. Luck of the draw I guess.

AUD was hard because unfamiliar with the concepts and I got a hard test.

BEC had some difficult sections but was med-hard test.

REG was difficult mainly because it was my first test and did not know what to expect.

Honestly, I could not say which one was that much harder than the other.

REG is hard because tax has so many rules and exceptions. And law… is law. Enough said.

AUD is hard because you are looking for the “best” answer, not necessarily the “correct” answer. And the material is boring.

BEC is hard because its such a jumble of so many different topics

I would say the most challenging exam for me was REG (although I found it to be the most interesting to study).

i failed REG once and just passed it and I felt that was the easiest exam. BEC I passed the first time and I felt it was by far the hardest one…

FAR by far! Reg was tough; but I audit federal taxes for a living so it definitely helped. Auditing for me was not bad at all. It's more conceptual and memorization. I think the key for audit is not worrying about the “right” answer and thinking about how you would personally deal with the situation; and then it all makes sense. and if you get it wrong; make sure you understand why it's wrong; or you'll be doing well based on memorization of the answers, not what you really know. I'm studying for BEC right now; which is my last section and it doesn't seem that bad. Again a lot of memorization and a lot of financial ratios but after FAR everything looks like rainbows and unicorns.
