Hi I am a new member and a recent graduate from university. I am wondering in addition of the four becker courses i bought online, is it necessary or worth the money to buy the final review and flash cards?

also, is there other materials useful to study for cpa exam? i heard wiley, ninja. Please help, I would appreciate it so much.

The final review didn't seem worth it to me. It really depends if you want a short(er) recap after going through all the material (and if you have time). I don't learn well from flashcards, but if you are standing in line somewhere they do come in handy to get extra practice in. I definitely recommend the ninja notes & audio. I listen to it in the car and while getting ready, it really helps drive it home. I love the notes and rewriting them. It really all depends on your learning style. I use Becker and can't stand the lectures, but when I sit down and read the chapter it makes sense and do much better on the homework than when I was just watching the lectures and doing the homework (the Becker way). I did purchase Roger Cram and love his recap lectures. There is a lot of good material out there, just don't drown yourself in several because it will be overwhelming. Know where you're going to get your primary studying from (which sounds like Becker) and use anything else as a supplement.

I wouldn't spend the money on the final review. I would buy an additional test bank instead, like either Wiley or Ninja. MCQs are going to be what helps you the most, not additional lectures, and that's part of what you would be getting in the final review.

I will go ahead and say, I am a NinjaMCQ guy, but another option is also Yaegers test bank, it allows you to buy 1 week access at a time.

Extra bells and whistles like a final review and flash cards are fine, but I never benefited from those. All I looked for when shopping for study materials were the following; an interesting instructor that didn't bore me to sleep, textbooks to read what I didn't understand from the instructor, and all the questions I can find (a test bank). Whether something is called a ‘final review” or not, I have no doubt in my mind that they'll be the similar questions to what you'll already have.

As for flash cards, I found myself saving money by making the flash cards myself rather than cutting corners to buy them pre-made. It also helped me learn the material.

I highly suggest Wiley when your just starting your CPA exam studies. All the questions are structured exactly the same as you would see on exam day. The only problem I had with Wiley is the subscription options. The only option you have with Wiley is a one year fixed subscription with either one ($150) or all four ($575) sections.

Personally, now that I've passed three sections with my recently expired Wiley subscription, I find renewing my Wiley subscription not really worth the bang for my buck anymore. I've taken all four sections and know the structure with the section I still need to pass, which is why I went with NINJA REG MCQ for the next three months for ($47). NINJA is going to help me bring it home. =P
