Just curious about the range ages…I’ve seen a lot of younger peeps discussing undergrad courses and I’m starting to feel old. So what say you?

    I’m 30…

Old thread, but I just went back and read through it all and I never posted on it.

I am 25. Was 23 when I started all this. Married (wedding was during the CPA process – bad idea) and no kids.

Anyone with kids doing this is my hero. My cat and husband were big enough distractions 🙂

Never saw this thread before today – read through the whole thing. Very interesting.

Guess I am one of the oldest out here (already knew that before reading this). If you use Mini's formula, I guess I am 81!

Actually, I am 56 with 5 grown children – ages 22 – 32, so I am old enough to be a parent to a majority of the posters out here! One of my sons is actually taking the exams at the same time as I am and is also part of this community. I suppose most of you wonder why in the world I am doing this at all. Stopped my college career to do the most important job of raising my family, then went back to school late in life. It has taken me 8 years of part-time classes and studying with full-time work to get to this place and I don't regret any of it. It is a personal achievement I had always hoped for, and I do have at least 10 more years of employment ahead of me, so hopefully it will help me do what I enjoy.

39, married, just had first child mid-August.

Life is not black and white. Some take a traditional path and some not so much. It seems with goals such as these that timing is vital. With me, everything clicked towards the end of 2011. I had the desire to obtain the credential. It appeared formidable, but obtainable. I could envision what I would have to go through to obtain it. I decided to act. It feels like I am doing this at the right time for me. I don't think I had the desire or the discipline to pursue this designation when I was younger. I highly respect and am even envious of those who have this credential under their belts by the time they are in their mid-20s, but that was just not my path.

momto5- We all have our reasons for pursuing this credential, and your reasons are just as valid as anyone elses. You have a winner's mentality and you don't let perceptions of age or anything else derail you. Judging from your scores (and the dates of those scores) it looks like this is definately your time!

29, will be 30 on the day of my audit exam. I first tried to sit when I was 24, but the young NYC life got in my way. I couldn't dedicate my self, totally my own fault. I got a new job and a with it a renewed desire to take the exam. With a little help from my boss.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
