KasiaSParticipantI'm in the same boat, I've gained about 18 lbs since starting this mess and I feel downright awful. People around me keep tellling me that it doesn't show, but I know they're just being kind.
My plan of attack is, if I passed REG, I'm going to start Zumba this month to build up my cardiovascular strength, and then go full force with the P90X DVDs and this time I'll finish the 90 days. God willing, I'll get my body back under control by next summer. My deadline is June 27th (by birthday).
Hang in there, you're not the only one.

pacific1ParticipantI have noticed I am gaining weight as well…I don't want to know the number though. But starting today I am going to start eating right and also making it to the gym every day. I was reasoning it that I didn't have time to workout but I do, I can make 45 minutes for myself and if I am really worried about losing the study time I can always bring my NINJA notes and read them while on the eliptical trainer. You can do this, we can not jeopardize our health at the expense of this test!

kandisjoyParticipantI gained about 30 pounds… over a two year period of studying. I've managed to lose 14 pounds of it now. Still want to lose more beyond that.. I wasn't exactly at my goal weight when I started this anyways (probably about 15 pounds heavier than I should be when I started). So I'd say that I have about 35 more pounds to lose.
I started playing Roller Derby while studying for my last attempt at REG, and ended up getting my highest score ever on a CPA exam, despite sacrificing 6 hours per week to derby. I think that exercising actually helped me pass. Make time to get fit and you will be so much happier, and you might do better on your exams because of it. 🙂

AnonymousInactiveIm waiting on REG too…its rough but when you finish then you can use the time you spent studying on working out.
If i pass REG..i still need to study for FAR. so I cant afford to go another 3 months gaining anymore weight..i need to start something! lol I will feel alot better after i've passed because less stress and i know i can move “working out” one step higher on my priority list…plus i much rather be a fat loser with a CPA.. haha

RedRage00MemberI've managed to maintain, but it hasn't been easy. I flucuate up and down a few pounds depending on the week. Some weekends I'm so stressed out and studying that I just order pizza instead of making something healthier.
I've managed to fit in working out, and I run at least 3 times per week. I got up early on Saturday morning and put in 7 miles then came home, showered, and hit the books. It was a good weekend as far as exercise and dieting goes 🙂

jomarieParticipantSince May, when I started studying hard-core, I've gained 10 lbs. Throughout this process I've contiuned to attend my weight watchers meetings and have been talking to my leader about the exam. I truely believe, if I wasn't attending the meeting I would have gained all my weight back plus some. I'm still down about 10 lbs since I started going to WW back in 2009, with a 9 month break when I had my little one. I started last week to every week change a habit I've started, or gone back to since I started studying. This past week, I've tracked all my food. When I weighed in on Saturday, I remained the same from the previous week. This week I told myself I was going to incorporate some workouts, well I haven't done so well with that one, so I'm thinking I need to change it to drinking more water. I've really gotten away from drinking water and have been drinking tons of coffee and diet pop. So I'm going to cut down on the caffeinee and drink more water. I'll see on Saturday how that works.
Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....

julia_zMember17lb weight gain so far for me 🙁 none of my clothes fit. I have REG in January and it is really hard to squeeze in a workout between work, study and life. I know I should stop making excuses for so long and get my ass to the gym. On the brighter side, hopefully after REG I'm done, so I can finally start exercising and having more time to prepare more healthy food instead of ordering in or picking up something unhealthy on the way to library or going home.

AnonymousInactiveI have gained few lbs since I started this CPA thing. I don't really want to weight myself but my pants are telling me every morning. The problem for me is not how many lbs I have gained. The problem is that I am lossing muscle and gaining fat since I haven't done any weight training or exercising…but I am not really concerned too much about it, if I can tackle CPA, I can tackle my weight.

kandisjoyParticipantI use a website called Loseit.com to log my food and exercise, if anyone is interested. If you want to add me as a friend, go to “Friends” – > “Add friend” and look up “Kandis” I should be the first one that comes up, and it says “Kandis aka Wendy Wrathcomes”
This site has really helped me stay accountable, and I get a ton of encouragement from other people trying to acheive their weight goals.

AnonymousInactiveI kind of fluctuate…I don't know if my weight is healthy right now, but I hope to maintain a healthy weight when all this studying is officially over!
I sympathize with those who have gained weight – I know what it's like, and it's definitely possible to lose those extra pounds!! But not always so easy 🙁

OnMyWayToCPAMemberIve gained 30 lbs since May =( My weight has always been a struggle but recently I lost 40 lbs (last year) only to gain 10 back and maintain that weight, until I started studying for the exam.
Since then Ive packed on 30 more, so if you do the math, that means I weigh 10 more lbs than I did before I lost all that weight. =/
I don't know how I'm gonna juggle the exam and getting back in shape, but something has got to give.
Thinking of joining weight watches…
B - 79 PASSED (1/4 there!)
A - 77 PASSED (1/2 there!)
F - 79 PASSED (3/4 there!)
R - 83 PASSED (DONE!!!!!!)

AnonymousInactiveOk guys..so apparently i have a certified personal trainer in the sales department at my company. She gave me some great info and ofcourse i put some numbers behind it…lol
there are 3,500 calories in 1lb of fat…so if you cut back your diet by 500calories a day..in a week(7days) you “should” lose 1lb/week…also if you excercise 3-4 times a week and burn another 500cal on the treadmill(not that hard)…you “should” lose another 0.5lb a week…or 6lbs a month.
this is definately attainable while studying because it only changes your diet a little..and 30mins on the treadmill…i know after i am finished from CPA and i can spend 1.5 hours in the gym each day i can easily burn 800-1000cals and then still diet..i will be sheading the lbs..
heres to finishing the CPA..and getting fit in 2012!!!

AnonymousInactive15 pounds. I'm 5'8”, so it's not that bad, but I was in such a good shape before that it makes me mad.
Working full-time & studying led to this. And chocolate was my best friend in the long study nights.
I'm vain and my looks is so important for my self-esteem. I know what to do, but I can't muster the will to do it. All my will is concentrated on studying.
