I'm going on exam 10 now, which makes 6 fails and 3 passes. It is the worst but you are in the majority and not alone! I'm sure people have “better” stories of their journey than me so I'll spare you my boring one.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

Don't give up, keep going. The thing that makes Another71 such a great forum is that it is filled with CPA candidates that help each other through this exam through motivational threads, inspirational stories, and advice. I have yet to sit for the exam, but I will be in October 2014 after I get the 150 hrs. I plan to give this exam everything I have in me. I have worked too hard over the last two years to even be eligible to sit for the exam later this year and I will NOT GIVE UP until I pass all 4 sections of the exam. Remember why you are taking the exam in the first place, Dig deep and keep going, NEVER GIVE UP, YOU CAN DO THIS. This exam is designed to test dedication, persistence, and will, it test if you REALLY want to be a CPA. All you have to do is keep going until you pass.

Check out that thread. Lots of veterans weighing in there. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. If you give up now, it's money and time wasted. Make it mean something! Live and breathe this forum. It helped me find the strength I needed to keep going.

Your FAR scores keep getting better and better– you're so close. I agree with the others who said to keep at FAR until you pass that beast.

Hammering the MCQs is so important. On each one that you get right, review the key points on why you got it right. On each one that you get wrong, figure out why you got it wrong– did you not pay close enough attention to the dates (month or year can make a huge difference on FAR), was there a “not” or an “except” in the question, were you using extra information that was presented but not necessary, etc. Those are the sneakier reasons one can get a question wrong, other than just not understanding the topic. By practicing the MCQs, you learn both how they ask the questions and how you interpret and solve the questions, and then how to improve that whole process. If your SIMs are weaker, make sure to practice those, too, and practice journal entries, decpreciation schedules, amortization schedules, cash flow statements, and the like.

You can do this. Get obsessed and keep at it until you pass.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I think like other people have said, you need to see what is best for you study wise. Something isn't working so what can you do to get better. Also be honest with yourself on study time. I ran into that, I realized I wasn't studying enough and it cost me:

    FAR – 54, May 30th

    REG – 49, 73, 74, 87

    BEC – 51, 73, 78

    AUD – 48, 69, 74, 77 (expires in November)

I took all four parts when I first got out of school (7 yrs ago) and I didn't really sudy because I didn't take it too seriously. Now I have gone 12 rounds so far and I am down to 1 test left. I have tried every which way to study and in the end each part required me to do something different. It will be worth it in the long run but in the end it is all up to you. Good luck!

    Hi,

I am struggled like you too. I have too many material I think. I believe I spend a lot of time to do MCQ and focused on tax when I worked on REG and it just slap me with another 67. I think I will just go back to my notes and like everyone else said, I will give me 110% this time and see how does it goes. This forum is such a great motivation since I heard lots of great stories and also about those who failed but never give up. I wrote a sticky note 07-01 and put on my computer at work and I will look at it everyday and study harder. This time, I will be more focused on 1 section instead of others and go hard at it. No TV. No Facebook. No Internet. Let ‘s get this thing done.

    REG : 62, 67, 81. Tick- Expire 01/02/2016
    BEC : 72, 67,71,76. Tick Expire 10/25/2015
    AUD : 60, 62, 62, 74(8/30) - 10/1/2015 - oh geez
    FAR : 68, 64, 72(7/24) - 10/20/2015- oh geez

    I am WHINING...

" Just take it without worrying about the 75. Man, that is not easy!"

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I sit for Audit at the end of this month.

    In response to infernoOmni's questions:

    – How many hours are you putting into studying a day?

Before I was putting in a few hours a day after work, I work at a big 4 firm, and on the weekends I would try to get 6 hours or so of studying done. I am not sure what the hours of “quality” studying was, maybe 1-2 hours on the weekday and 3-4 hours on the weekend? Too many distractions

    – Are you waking up early morning to study before work? Do you have notecards for while you're at work? Are you isolating yourself when you study after work?

Im waking up early to go to the gym and then get into work 1 hour before work, and get some studying in.

    – Are you spending time with friends or families? Going on dates? Going “out”? Because none of these are allowed.

I was…. Now NO for AUDIT

    – Are you absorbing the information as you listen to lecture and read the Chapters? Or are you skimming? If you do understand a topic, do you understand it enough to teach someone else?

I read the chapters, and just skimming them. What do you guys do when you dont understand a topic?

    – Are you watching TV?

    I canceled Cable 🙂

Lets try this 110% involvement. Im going to get all of this before 9/1/2014. MARK MY FREAKIN' WORDS

    BEC: 73,78 79
    AUD: 60, 60, 70, 80
    FAR: 49, 64, 71, 82
    REG: 68, 68, 73, 78

    DONE.... OMGFG DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
