Hey y’all. I decided to take the CPA 3 years after graduating with a BBA in accounting. Working 40 horus a week. Started to study once I got my NTS, just a month to study after work and on weekends.

I had a week left before exam and was on govt. It was soo long and boring I skipped it and read NFP first, then skimmed govt.

Did bad on Wiley test bank Govt (40%). I think I did bad on the exam too, though I did get a difficult second testlet. Probably 75-80% correct, curved to 50 points? πŸ™‚

I’m not sure how testlets are curved… but I think I got half right, 1-3 completely wrong.

I spent about 30-45 minutes each testlet, had 2 hours for simulations.

How do you think I did?

    FAR: 2/23/14 77 (1 month studying)
    AUD: 5/25/14 68
    AUD: 7/13/14 72
    AUD: 10/12/14 72
    I GIVE UP

All this predicting does not work lol.. the exam is graded in a very weird way so it's hard to speculate since some questions weigh more than other and other questions do not count towards the grade..don't sweat it..just wait!

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 βœ”
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 βœ”
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 βœ”
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 βœ”

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

Personally, doesn't sound good to me. Gov't and NFP is about 25% of the exam. There is no curve, and you cannot bomb sims and expect to pass. Too much weight on them (40%).

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

Aww πŸ™ Is there a score range you guys notice for medium-medium-medium people, medium-difficult-difficlt, and medium-difficult-medium?

I think I completely blew all accounts/amounts on 1 sim. The others, I had educated guesses. Maybe the debit/credit switched, or amounts wrong, but I chose the right account.

this whole thread has so much wrong in it. you need to go buy a lottery ticket.

I was getting 85-90 on my Govt questions and posted a seventy five. my test-lets were medium-hard-hard or medium.

    AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
    BEC - 74 , 77
    REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)
    FAR - 69 , 75

I worked hard for this exam. I would absolutely advise that you study government and not pray it doesn't show up on the exam. I'm just saying, I passed πŸ™‚

For government, I remembered a few things like Estimated Revenues starts off as a debit that got me a MCQ or 2, but I was doing terrible with MCQ on Wiley Test Bank, 40% compared to 70-80% for everything else. Given that it took me 3 weeks to finish reading through all of the chapters in Wiley, I had a week left. Hammer government, or hammer MCQ… I guess I could do both, but I never went to school for govt accounting, it just wasn't making sense too me. So much to remember (fiduciary?? General?? expenditures and appropriations and encumbrances?)

I didn't feel outstanding leaving the exam room, but I knew I basically only threw darts at the government questions, and was comfortable with all of my other answers. I think I got 3/7 sims right, probably partial credit for some others.

My first week of studying, chapter 1, I was going through text, highlighting, doing MCQ and SIMS. I had to switch it up.

Highlighting was pointless since there was too much text, and I wasn't going to flip through the book all the time. I discovered Ninja Notes (rewriting textbook notes. Generally focus on explaining why MCQ were wrong). I have Microsoft OneNote, I can read my notes on my phone and PC πŸ™‚ I skipped SIMS in the book, though later did all of the sims on Wiley Online test bank.

Once I finished reading through the book in 3 weeks, I used the online test bank, and I got a 77 πŸ™‚
