I was actually just discussing this with others today. My plan is to continue to study to keep the information fresh just in case of a retake (HOPING FOR THIS NOT TO BE THE CASE!). Taking six weeks off from study time will result in some loss of knowledge in key areas. By doing MCQs here and there and watching some lectures you can retain the information in case of a retake. Positive vibes all around though for some passing scores June 27!

    Best of luck!

I had this dilemma last fall. I took time off from any section, and completed the AICPA ethics course (which did not take nearly as long as I anticipated…just a couple hours). I went 1 for 2 that window and had to retake BEC, but I switched up my study methods again and tried a different route that round. I knew I wasn't fully prepared when I sat in December, so I wasn't surprised I had to take it again.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

@Eric – how Much are you going to study? And start now? Like every day and weekends or what do you think?

@CollegeAthletetoCPA – I will be taking off this entire week/upcoming weekend. If I were to quantify in hours, I will be doing about 10-15 hours per week will consist of weekdays and weekends as opposed to the 25 I typically do (I am also working FT as well).

IMO you should at a minimum do a round of mcqs and sims every day. Maybe just 30 mcqs/3 sims just to keep some of the info fresh. Better to be prepared for a potential retake versus having to sit and relearn it all. You'll be so happy if you pass you won't care about the wasted time keeping the info fresh.

So true – @superdude3000 thats what I am thinking. Going to give myself this week and weekend off to chill and have a normal life again then try and get back on the saddle. The test was tough, so I am feeling super uneasy about it.

I wouldn't study. To me whether you keeping studying or not you will need to go through all the material when you study for the retake. You want to do some light studying I guess go for it but I would enjoy the next 6 weeks off or however long till the score release. Anything you forget that you previously understand shouldn't be hard to obtain again. I always took at least 3 weeks off after exams and didn't study any after my last attempt. Breaks are a needed refreshment in my book.

@cpacandidate3, right…I know i feel that way too. a Break might actually help me…I am just praying to God I passed.

I just took AUD today and it's potentially my last exam as well. However, I want to be prepared for the worse… and not sure if I should just party and live life, or…… keep studying just in case so I can retake as soon as possible. I may review sections here and there after this week, but well see how that goes. Just annoyed that we have to wait so long for our scores.
