Hello All –
I always told myself that when I pass, I will share my brief thoughts with the A71 community, which has been extremely helpful in my CPA exam journey, as I feel that I owe it to whoever might need a bit of encouragement.
I should start off by saying that the NINJA products are a phenomenal resource to use when studying for the exams (Roger + NINJA MCQ + NINJA Notes = what I used).
As a word of encouragement, I am not ashamed to admit that this exam took a lot of energy and focus, including bouncing back from six failures. (Just a random thought, I found it discouraging, and ironic, when people would sign their test score signatures merely with their passed sections.. the purpose of the A71 community is to encourage one another.)
I consider myself an average candidate who simply wanted to pass with a 75 (not looking to be the next EWS winner). 5 of my first 6 exams were Failures, but then bounced back to pass 3 exams in three months!
Below you will find a few tips that worked for me in the latter months of my studying, and my exam scores, all in one years time.
1. Don’t buy all four exam sections at once
2. If possible, take two exams per testing window (invest now, reap later)
3. Be sure to budget some time for “fun” – yes, even the week of an exam / score release.
4. Don’t focus on memorizing questions, especially BEC, because you don’t know what’s coming your way.
5. NINJA MCQ = Essential
6. Read Psalm 20 on the dailyAUD 73 / AUD 79 / FAR 68 / REG 70 / BEC 65 / FAR 72 / FAR 82 / REG 73 / REG 84 / BEC 80
Trust in the Lord, and he will make your paths straight.
