While preparing for the CPA exam, you think it’s a smarter decision to tell or not tell your employer/co-workers that your preparing for the CPA.
I passed FAR (on second attempt) and just took Audit, and i didn’t tell. I think they know that I’m studying for something because i have my books at all time. But i really like it that no one asks me annoying repetitive questions.. did you pass? when is your exam? How many parts remaining? are you done? how much longer? education requirements? bla bla bla endless!
i was planning to tell when I’m half way through. The AUD score is coming out very soon. Now I’m having second thoughts reconsidering..
What do you guys think? This is something I’ve always wanted to take for -myself-. It is one of my goals. I want to do it on my own time. I hate feeling pressured by others. I don’t mind failing a section and doing a retake.. but i do mind when coworkers/mangers think less of my abilities when they know I failed a section. They won’t understand how difficult/common it is to do retakes. You know what i mean?
I’m in a private firm by the way not in public accounting. What do you guys do? Did you share? Did you regret it? How do you handle the annoying questions without being rude?
