    Hello everyone,

This is my first post as I am about to begin my journey to become a CPA and need some help on what to do. I currently have 147/150 and the last 3 credits I need have to be in accounting. I have decided to take a Keller graduate level class to get these last 3 needed hours. My question to everyone is I plan on taking my first test in July so I am going to take the Becker class and the Keller class at the same time, while also working 45-50 hours a week. Do you guys think this is to much or it should be manageable. I have never taken a online class let a alone a class a Keller before so any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't used Becker but I understand it is very thorough. I have taken an accounting class online, it was undergrad though. It was a LOT of work! Some people don't need a teacher standing there telling them everything but I do. So I had to work twice as hard. If you put in the hours, stay focused and keep to your schedule, then you can do it. It's not going to be easy but if you are determined then you can get through it. Keep us posted.

Keller is way too expensive. Check out this link instead, it doesn't require much time or effort to finish the whole course and it's way cheaper than keller.

The University of North Alabama course is accredited (I know that from an actual experience) although it won't harm to check with the state board. April 1st was the deadline for the spring semester (I'm not sure about Keller), however, depending on your state, you can still take the exams and finish the credit hours requirements afterwards. I highly recommend the course since it would require minimum effort from your side and you can use it to review the CPA exam.

LongJourney, I am scheduled to start a Keller class in two weeks which is scheduled to end in June. The problem is for the 30 accounting hours in my state you are required to finish 120 days after you receive your NTS so I need to finish which ever class I take in July at the latest. I have emailed the CPAExcel asking where there next class starts, because that would save me a huge amount of money especially since Becker is expensive enough already.

Totally manageable. I was able to do it with a lot more than that going on. If you really want it, nothing can keep you from it.

@LongJourney, I also need 6 more credit hours in accounting, and I checked out the course listing from UNA, and I have already taken all of those courses. Do you (or anyone else) know of an online school that doesn't charge a fortune, that offers Audit II and Cost II? (those seem to be about the only undergrad upper level accounting courses I have not taken). I took some graduate courses at University of South Florida last year (Corporate Taxation and Partnership Taxation), and they were awesome, but at $1200 per class, and a LOT of effort, I was hoping to find something cheaper and easier to finish up!
