I am getting ready to sit for FAR in a couple of months (February 2012) and I was wondering if any one had some tips to help me increase my test taking speed (I am not a great test taker). I came with in 11 points last time (my 2nd time taking FAR) and I feel that if I had finished the test I would have passed. Was a 64% a bad score without finishing the test?

I have two more chapters to study and I was wondering what others do for a Final Review prior to taking the test.

Thank you for all your help and best of luck to every one. Practice, Perseverance, Patience, Persistance.

I think what I had to learn myself was not to dwell on a question for too long. If it took me longer than 1 – 1 1/2 min for a question I would select my best guess & mark it for review. I didn't finish FAR the first time either, but I determined that spending too much time on the MCQ was my problem. Also, now the Simulations are worth 40% of the test so you want to make sure you give yourself enough time to answer them effectively. I would give myself about 50 min per testlet. Before the test I would calculate what the clock would say after 50 min for each testlet and write it down at the top of my scratch paper so I could quickly look at the time and see if I was somewhat on track. Don't freak out if there is a question that seems to come out of nowhere & you have never seen it before bc more than likely it is a surprise to most candidates & could be a pre-test question. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
