Test Order - Page 3

So I know this topic has probably already been hammered to death, however, I need some advice.

On July 1st (1st day of the next window) I plan to annihilate BEC once and for all. While I don’t want to get ahead of myself as anything is possible, I am 100% positive in my knowledge base and ability to finally get BEC out of the way.

This will be my first passed exam.

What should be my next step? I recently started a full time position in a public accounting firm and am doing taxes non-stop. I feel comfortable with Regulation right now as I took the Becker course for it back in November and was hoping to take it in March. But failing BEC for a second time in February by only 3 points led me to beleive that it would be best to re-focus on BEC. In the process my REG NTS had expired.

Right now I have an open slate: What is everyone’s recommendation for which exam to choose next? Assuming I pass BEC; the clock begins!

"If you're going through hell, keep going"
    - Winston Churchill

"I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost over 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I've failed, over and over and over again in my life. And that is why, I succeed."
    - Michael Jordan

    BEC: (54), (72), 80 (losing credit on 02/02/15 - nervous)
    AUD: 78
    REG: (74), 91
    FAR: (71)

Do hardest to easiet. FAR-REG-AUD-BEC (BEC and AUD can be switched). Once you pay FAR, it'll motivate you for the other 3.

    FAR - 78 (07/09/12)
    REG - 84 (11/27/12)
    BEC - 86 (02/26/13)
    AUD - 87 (05/29/13)

This might come back to haunt me – but I left FAR for last because I knew it was hardest. As jsmithsae said, those passing scores are really motivational. Now that I have 3 of the 4 tests done, I am wayyyy more confident and motivated to pass FAR than I would have been.

I failed REG on my first two goes at the exam and really lost a lot of hope that I could ever pass the CPA exam. I switched over and gave BEC a go and passed on my first try – that pass really boosted my confidence and has fueled 2 more straight passes since then.

Like meatball said, order is kind of overhyped and a bit of a catch 22. You do the harder tests first you might lose your confidence and dedication if you fail, you take the easier ones first then you might lose credit. Roll the dice how you deem best.

Start with an area you're strong in ( I did AUD). Tackle the other 2. Take BEC last.

cmitch85, I'm relatively new here, but not to message boards, and it's generally considered poor form to drag up old threads, especially to post the same thing on them that you've posted elsewhere.

And reposting the same thing is generally considered spamming and not appreciated.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I have read that the suggested exam order is: FAR, AUD, REG, BEC.

Why you may ask? FAR is usually considered the hardest and others have suggested that completing the hardest part first is best because once the you pass one part the clock starts ticking. You have a year and half before its credit expired.

AUD is next because its material coincides with FAR.

REG and BEC both have similar material.

My order was: FAR, BEC, AUD, REG. Not exactly, the order above but it still worked.

    FAR 82
    BEC 82
    AUD 93
    REG 87

I am happy so far with the FAR, AUD, REG, and BEC order for the reasons Jasper mentioned. It would of been kind of cool to get BEC out of the way before REG since I probably could of gotten it out of the way much sooner than REG. Then again it will feel good when I have only the “easiest” exam left.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"
