So I know this topic has probably already been hammered to death, however, I need some advice.

On July 1st (1st day of the next window) I plan to annihilate BEC once and for all. While I don’t want to get ahead of myself as anything is possible, I am 100% positive in my knowledge base and ability to finally get BEC out of the way.

This will be my first passed exam.

What should be my next step? I recently started a full time position in a public accounting firm and am doing taxes non-stop. I feel comfortable with Regulation right now as I took the Becker course for it back in November and was hoping to take it in March. But failing BEC for a second time in February by only 3 points led me to beleive that it would be best to re-focus on BEC. In the process my REG NTS had expired.

Right now I have an open slate: What is everyone’s recommendation for which exam to choose next? Assuming I pass BEC; the clock begins!

    - Michael Jordan

    BEC: (54), (72), 80 (losing credit on 02/02/15 - nervous)
    AUD: 78
    REG: (74), 91
    FAR: (71)

    FAR, AUD, REG, BEC.

Tax & cost acct gave me the most trouble in school so i saved that for last. I figured FAR will be the easiest so I wanted to bang that out so I'll get some momentum build up.

So much of Audit lends itself to BEC (internal controls/COSO framework, which is a huge part of BEC). Taking Audit before BEC is a huge advantage.

    AUD - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    BEC - Pass
    REG - Nov

I'm really happy with the order I've done it in!

    FAR AUD BEC REG

Honestly having taken FAR first really really helped me with AUD and BEC. Also AUD helped with BEC for IT stuff! I would recommend a similar order to mine!

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)

Honestly, exam order is completely overhyped. Do whatever one you want. The only thing that really deserves your attention is timing issues. So, take BEC/AUD if you're trying to squeeze in a window and take FAR/REG if you have more time.

Mypetmeatball really nailed it. The order itself doesn't so much matter, but the timing does. You need to look ahead at the next 18 months and determine where you have pockets of time to study. Then align your exams accordingly. Like for me, I have a far less demanding schedule in the summer so That would be the best time to take FAR or REG which require more study time. Then BEC or AUD in the winter when I have less time I can devote to studying.

Whatever order you decide, just plan ahead and leave some buffer for any exams that you may have to retake. Good luck!

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

Im in the order doesn't matter boat as well…with one caveat though. It is impossible to explain the lift you get once you receive your first PASS score notice. Sometimes I think just having one behind you is enough to push a person to work harder and ultimately start passing on a consistent basis.

    BEC-75!
    AUD-84!
    REG-78!
    FAR-83!
    Ethics-Passed!
    Experience-Got that too
