I’ve seen lots of signatures showing exam dates in the same month for two exams. I just got an 84 on FAR, which is the first exam I ever took. Ideally, I want to be done with the next 3 within 6 months now.

I figured I’ll schedule each one in 2 month intervals, and knock them out that way.

How do some of you study for two exams together? In your experience, has this been better or worse for your scores?

I’ve heard REG is tough, so I was thinking maybe I can take AUD and BEC both in February, but not sure what to expect.

    Thanks for the help!

    FAR: 11/21/13: 84 PASSED
    AUD: 08/29/14: 52 11/26/14: 84 PASSED
    BEC: 01/24/15: 75 PASSED
    REG: 02/28/15: 65 05/20/15: 82 PASSED

    I. AM. DONE!

I took FAR and REG on the same day. I didn't pass them both, but I did finally pass REG. I got a 71 or a 73 on FAR. I think it was a 73. Either way, I didn't pass them both. It was a nightmare and the month leading up to them was horrendous. If you are in danger of losing a score, I lost BEC that day because of FAR, then I'd say go for it. But if not, then why put yourself through that kind of hell.

@Kricket I 100% agree that it's unnecessary hell and if you don't need to do it then don't! You have nerves of steel to be able sit for FAR and REG on the same day. I don't think my liver could handle that!!! πŸ˜‰

I squeezed in BEC as sort of a… 1. Hail Mary 2. I would fall over and die from shock if I pulled it off 3. what the hell, I've already spent this much on NTS' in 2013 so what's another $300 going to hurt 4. I'll just retake July 5. Why not, it's not like I'll blow my chances for the EWS award…kinda move! πŸ™‚

I have been thinking of the same thing. Study the next 5-6 weeks for Audit, take exam in Jan, and then study FAR all of January and February, and take exam in February. Note I just missed Aud and this would be a re-take. Thoughts?

    BEC - 5/26/2013 75
    REG - 8/31/2013 82
    AUD - 11/24/2013 74, 2/9/2014 92
    FAR - 5/25/2014 85

Unless you have a reason you have to take the exams themselves close together (like if you're an international student who is flying to the US to take them and wants to make as few trips as possible), I see no reason to study for multiple exams at once; however, that doesn't mean that you can't take them close together. I took FAR in the 3rd week of July and AUD in the 2nd week of August, so within a month of each other, but I didn't study for them at the same time – I studied for and took FAR, then studied for and took AUD. I could have studied for both and taken them both in the 2nd week of August, but to me, that seemed like a lot more trouble for no added benefit. I'd rather study for a shorter time and study one subject exclusively, and then do the same with the next!

However, it sounds like you're on track to get these next 2 exams done soon. Don't delay just because the official date hasn't come yet. If you find the studying is going well and you could take BEC just before the baby is due, go for it! Don't wait for February just because that's the date you picked. At the same time, don't take it just because it's the date – if caring for mother and baby takes too much time, delay the test till the end of February or whenever you feel you need to. I don't think you'll need to delay it, though. πŸ™‚

@jrosen Sounds reasonable, but remember that for AUD you are not studying for 1 point – you are studying for all 75 again. Often people feel like with a retake they don't need to study as much, but don't fall for that trap! 5-6 weeks sounds like you're not doing that, but just cautioning you. Study like you've never seen the material before and need to absorb every nugget of information that's in it! Your FAR timeline might be tight looking at the spacing of your previous exams, but like I told the OP, you can still give it a shot and re-schedule if you don't feel ready (or if you don't mine re-taking it, you could take it late February since it's the end of the window even if you knew you weren't ready).

I think it depends on the exam and your proficiency with it. I have an audit background, so I took audit 3 weeks after I took BEC. But I needed 2 full months to study for REG. I know the feeling of wanting to get it done fast, but the best way to tackle this is to come up with a study plan and stick to it. I wanted to get my exam done quickly in my first round, but ended up falling behind on my study plan and just had to retake them again anyway. Look at how much material you need to get through and plan it out. Don't try to take short cuts just for the sake of getting it done faster.

    BEC - 68, 76
    AUD - 90, 91
    FAR - 63, 83
    REG - 55, 79

    FINALLY DONE!

I think everyone's experience varies. To judge how much time it'll take you to prep for your next tests, take a look at your past tests. Personally, I'm scheduling my tests about a month apart (will probably be about 1.5 for the next one due to all of the family obligations around Christmas time).

For me, I've scheduled mine about a month apart and take off a week or two before starting prep for the next one. I'm doing Gleim self-study because videos/lectures don't do anything for me. Reading the material and cranking out the MCQ's is all I've done thus far and seems to have been fairly successful (waiting to see the results of my AUD exam.
