Taking two exams around the same time a good idea?

I’ve seen lots of signatures showing exam dates in the same month for two exams. I just got an 84 on FAR, which is the first exam I ever took. Ideally, I want to be done with the next 3 within 6 months now.

I figured I’ll schedule each one in 2 month intervals, and knock them out that way.

How do some of you study for two exams together? In your experience, has this been better or worse for your scores?

I’ve heard REG is tough, so I was thinking maybe I can take AUD and BEC both in February, but not sure what to expect.

    Thanks for the help!

    FAR: 11/21/13: 84 PASSED
    AUD: 08/29/14: 52 11/26/14: 84 PASSED
    BEC: 01/24/15: 75 PASSED
    REG: 02/28/15: 65 05/20/15: 82 PASSED

    I. AM. DONE!

Can do but will be hard, above average students need one and half month for AUD and at least one month for BEC,,,with conditions they are studying full time no work- average study 5-8 hours 6 days a week and have some experience, now you can figure out your situation,

I took BEC and AUD two weeks apart. As you can tell by my signature it didn't work for me. I passed BEC, but not AUD. It may have been possible had a done them 4 weeks apart as opposed to 2. I watched all the AUD videos, then all the BEC videos, worked AUD MCQs, then BEC MCQs, read the entire BEC book and spent several weeks studying solely BEC MCQs. Then I spent 2 weeks doing solely AUD MCQs and barely any SIMS. I didn't have time to read the AUD book. If you can fit in all lectures and both books (and note taking) then have two weeks final review for BEC MCQs and 4 weeks of AUD MCQs and SIMS then I think you could pass. I did this while working full time and raising 3 young children. It is possible if you can avoid burn out. I had no AUD experience, but I do have two business degrees although I'm not sure they helped significantly with the test since a lot of BEC is out of left field.

If you have time to study now, you should take BEC 2nd week of January and AUD last week of February.

Studying for 2 exams at the same time is not very efficient in my opinion.

Your FAR score is pretty good. If you spent about 150 hrs or less studying for it, I suggest about 80 hrs for BEC and 80-90 hrs for AUD. You are right, REG should take about 120-130 hrs. Good luck!

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

I am taking 2 exams 1 months apart. I would said that it is not so bad if you spend a lot of time studying (i worked full time). I didn't received my second score yet (hopefully a pass). Tried to go over the book, at least one time, and work on the Sims, it count 40% toward your score.

    Good luck on your preparation.

    BEC (11/02/2013)- 90
    AUD (12/06/2013)- 75
    FAR (01/04/2014)- 84
    REG 69, 74, (waiting for 11/23/14)

Hmm, thanks for the input everyone.

I work full time and I am becoming a first time father around mid-January, so I think I'll schedule BEC for mid February and AUD for end of March.

I probably put 100-120 hours into FAR, so hopefully I won't have to study too much for BEC.

    FAR: 11/21/13: 84 PASSED
    AUD: 08/29/14: 52 11/26/14: 84 PASSED

    REG: 02/28/15: 65 05/20/15: 82 PASSED

I sat for audit on 4/16 and BEC 5/31 and passed both. Audit was a great lead into BEC considering all the crossover on internal controls, ratios, etc. Audit and FAR also have a fair amount of crossover info as well. I don't know what would match well with REG…it's an animal all it's own! πŸ˜‰

I took FAR and REG on the same day. I didn't pass them both, but I did finally pass REG. I got a 71 or a 73 on FAR. I think it was a 73. Either way, I didn't pass them both. It was a nightmare and the month leading up to them was horrendous. If you are in danger of losing a score, I lost BEC that day because of FAR, then I'd say go for it. But if not, then why put yourself through that kind of hell.
