I am just wondering..lets say if you don’t pass in first try…the answers you get right in the first exam..does nasba find a way to make sure you don’t get tested on the same material twice if you get it right?

I don't think so. Nasba knows that by the time you've left the exam, you've forgotten 99% of the questions (such is this exam)

I would say that NASBA doesn't actively prevent any repeating questions for those answered correctly on prior exams as I had one of the exact same SIMS on both my first and third FAR exams and I'm fairly certain I got that particular SIM correct both times as it's in one of my stronger areas. I also scored “stronger” on the SIMS on my first FAR exam, so in my mind that lends some credence to my belief that I actually knew what I was doing on that SIM. I was extremely happy to see it again on my third FAR exam, especially since I was able to get through it quickly once I read the instructions over and confirmed it was indeed a SIM I had seen before. I can't recall if the numbers were all exactly the same since I took my first FAR exam on 08/20/14 and just took my third FAR exam on 02/27/15, but the instructions and requirements for the SIM were identical.

Repeating questions can be either a blessing or a curse on subsequent exams after a failed attempt- in addition to my identical SIM on two of my FAR exams, I've also had one SIM on each of my three FAR exams that's in my weakest area and while not identical from one exam to the next, it's been similar enough on each exam that by my third attempt I was finally a bit more comfortable with answering it. If FAR has taught me one thing it's to make sure that you can nail the answers for your weakest area in a SIM because that's probably going to be one you see time and again if you take the exam more than once. Honestly, for my third FAR exam I just sat there and shook my head for a minute when the first SIM that popped up on my screen was similar to the same SIMs I've dreaded answering in my prior attempts…
