I’m trying to get Audit and BEC done in Q4 – do you guys have any recommendations for what order to take them? Does it matter? I’m taking REG on 8/29 so if I pass, I should be able to start studying for Audit or BEC shortly after taking REG.

Any advice would be appreciated!

kappa – I take BEC next week so not done with both, but I would maybe suggest Audit first. I took audit first. Some of the material for COSO and corporate governanace I have been able to learn/ review quicker because I took audit first. I have also heard from others that BEC is a good one to take last because you may see information from any of the other three during the test. Just my advice, good luck!

Thanks for the advice, Lauren! How long did it take you to study for Audit? Do you think a month is reasonable or too short?

Well, audit was weird for me. It was my first test. I ended up not passing the first time (73) , probably studied for 6 weeks. Then studied for 3 more weeks for my retake and made a 91. Honestly, most of the material came relatively easy for me compared to FAR at least, but the test itself was very intimidating for me and I didn't do well on the SIMS the first time around. Test anxiety got the best of me on my first test but it definitely could have been done in 6-8 weeks for me, working full time. Not sure if you work or not, a month may be a little quick but everyone is different.

I suggest Audit first.

I took Audit in May and I'm studying for BEC now

I'm glad that I took Audit first, and also glad I'm taking BEC right after it.
