Take FAR underprepared or postpone exam until I am prepared?

    Serious question here:

I’m supposed to take FAR on Nov 30. A little over a month from now. I’ve just started studying the materials due to recently finishing/taking my AUD Exam.

I’ve heard rumors where employers can actually see how many times you’ve taken an exam. My thought process was to just take the exam on Nov 30 (whether prepared or not) just to get the idea of the FAR Exam and to get a experience out of it (I’d obviously prepare my studies as if I was to actually take it on Nov 30th).

i’ve also considered cancelling FAR and taking BUS/REG, but I’ll be starting work mid Nov and I figured I do my best preparing and studying FAR while I don’t have work until then rather starting to study for FAR while i’m working (can be burdensome and overwhelming then). So i’ve decided to take FAR 2nd no matter when.

Should I just take the exam on Nov. 30 or should i cancel and prepare for January? If I should just take it on Nov, is it true that it actually doesn’t matter to my employers how many attempts I’ve taken at an exam?

Thank you so much for your time future/present CPAs!
