I’m planning to take FAR, and I feel I’m running on a tight schedule if I take it on oct. 20th, I’d like to have an extra 3 to 4 days.

But the problem is that it seems so dang long to wait for one month for your score!!! I’m also planning to take the final part after far. would be nice to know if i pass when i study. What do you guys suggest?

I know a lot of people schedule based on when they'll get their score, but I've always scheduled the tests for what fits into my schedule and when I think I can pass it, not score release. Why take it earlier to wait less time for a fail versus delaying a bit and waiting more time for a pass.

The 2½ weeks that I waited for my FAR score were actually more excruciating than any of my roughly-month-long waits!

Agreed. Post-pone the exam…you'll find a way to survive until your score is released 🙂 And even better when it comes back with a passing score b/c you gave yourself a few more days to study!

UGH THE WAIT!!! I took FAR on Oct 3rd, and the official release date is Nov 4th (so I'll probably get it Nov 3rd – exactly one month!). I'm also starting at my new firm on the 30th, so I don't know if I'll be able to sit in front of a computer and REFRESH REFRESH REFRESH on the release date either! I'm also taking BEC before I'll know my score, so that's been a fun weight on my mind. :/

But, like others have said, schedule based on your needs, not on your score release date. Yeah, it would be nice to know your results before you move on, but oh well. GOOD LUCK!! 😀

Thanks all for your advices! @ umkcfuturecpa, I feel I'll be in the same situation as you, just that I probably am taking my last part several days after the one long month wait of score release date. I'm still struggling on whether to take it Oct 20th or several days after… ahhh! Yes, it'll be nice to know your score sooner than later, but it'll be nicer when it's worth it to wait long.

I'm taking an exam on October 20, mostly because right after that date I'm going to be super busy at work.

But I'd be lying if the shorter score release didn't play a factor 🙂
