I posting this to all those taking the exams in the coming weeks.
I know that sometimes when we are taking an exam and we are thrown Curve Balls whether it may be an mcq that we have no Friggin clue as to what it is asking for or a Sim from another exam section.
The best thing to do sometimes is to just calm down, take a Deep Breath, Relax, and Reset. Panicking will only mess you up more because one you start panicking, you aren’t thinking clearly.
If it is a mcq, just mark it, move on to the next one and come back to it later when you mind is clear a bit. If it is a Sim, same thing. I know we have all gotten a Sim from another exam section. I got a FAR sim for AUD. For the three exams, I have passed, all I did was just calm down. I worked whatever the one I knew and came back to the ones I was uncertain. By doing this I spent a minute or two going back two what I had learned and studied. Once I was able to do that I was able to complete the mcq’s and Sims that gave me trouble.
I know this is something very simple, but for some it’s hard to do. Doing this though really helped me. I went from not passing after so many tries to having one more section left.
So hopefully when you guys are taking your exams in the coming weeks, try not to get flustered.
It’s how the exam was designed to see how well you work under pressure. If you guys just relax, take a deep breath, and reset, you will more than overcome what curveballs they throw at you. You guys studied hard, and are very intelligent because you guys are taking the CPA exams. Don’t let it get the best of you.
