Supplemental Questions for FAR/Other Parts of CPA

Hello all, I’ve been reading for a while but this is my 1st post. I just started studying for my 1st section of the CPA exam and I decided to start with FAR. I am using Becker and feel like I am going to need some supplemental questions to go along with it because I learn best from doing new problems. I’m wondering what you guys recommend to get for supplemental questions? I’m on a budget but also willing to spend what is needed. They would need to have very detailed feedback for the answer responses. Please let me know if you guys have any recommendations!

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Wiley test bank is good if you just want multiple choice questions. The feedback for answers are about equivalent to Becker. There are I think well over a thousand questions more than enough.

I also used Wiley to Supplement Fast Forward Academy. I thought it was a pretty good value. I paid $85 for the FAR Wiley MCQ. You get MCQ and simulations.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

I made the mistake of buying supplement questions and never getting to them.

I would recommend doing all of the Becker questions and making sure that you thoroughly understand all the Becker computational problems before buying anything else. Depending on how much time you have allocated to this test chances are you won't need additional questions but if you do….

Buy Wiley Test Bank(this site actually has best prices I have seen for new software)

    or

I have also seen people say good things about cpareviewforfree so this might be an alternative to the Wiley Test Bank.

That being said I have found that trying to finish all of the Becker questions is very time consuming especially if you go back and try to learn the ins and outs of the computational problems.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I agree with the above posts that WTB was a good supplement to Becker. It really helped me get through FAR and AUD and I actually thought the explanations were a little more logical then Becker's (especially for the computational problems).

    REG - 86
    FAR - 80
    BEC - 79
    AUD - 92...I'm done woohoo!

Add another vote for Wiley Test Bank (although the explanations are not the best).

    FAR - 71, 94
    BEC - 91
    REG - 51, 88
    AUD - 89

This website has over 600 mcqs for each section with good explanations.

I found this web site while studying for Audit and I got a couple of questions word to word on my actual exam.

    FAR 85
    AUD 83
    BEC 76
    REG 90

I agree with StudyMonk. There is more than enough questions in the Becker software to prepare you. If you do them all, try until you get them all right, and go back and do them again and understand each one, you really shouldn't have any time left. I never actually finished 100% of the questions for any of the tests. Mostly because I never practiced simulations. I think if you really understand the material, you'll be able to work through the sims. Do a couple at first just so you know the formatting. I think once you add another 1,000 questions to your study prep, you begin diluting what you've learned. It also created a sense of panic for me to try and rush through all the new questions. Maybe if you're planning on spending 2 months and taking one test a window, but I was trying to knock two out in each window and get this thing done. You'll be pleasantly surprised come test day if you know Becker questions inside and out. There will be a few repeats you can click right away, and the rest you can work through. Sorry, somewhat of a ramble post, but I'm at my in-laws for the entire week of Christmas. I'll probably be a regular poster over the next 8 days….
